Do you always go for to "Top Notch Infant" and "Happy Toddler" traits?

I do, but it's so much work.

  • Mine depends on sim personalities and the story I have in mind for them and their parent(s)/carer(s).

Some parents/carers are the type to potty train and teach their toddlers everything, some are more relaxed, one or two are bad parents, some are just too overwhelmed to cope and the toddlers run wild.

No, not always. I like to have a variation of diffrent Sims and all infants and toddlers just aren't perfectly gifted. They're awesome even without being top notch anything.
  • I've had some great luck when it comes to earning the Top Notch Infant. Sadly, despite how well my Toddlers do, earning threes and fives across the board, nobody has managed the Top Notch Toddler. This used to happen all of the time. I take little to no credit, though. I play my game with autonomy on full. Life span on Long. My Toddlers all just do their own thing with very little prompting on my part. They're just great kids! What can I say? I suspect their not having earned Top Notch for Toddlers is the bug mentioned? I just thought they'd left it out, since the Infants now can earn it. I should really stop assuming stuff. you know?
