Do you create stock characters / custom NPCs/"townies"?

I have several families from the previous games in my current game. I only have one active family so all the old timers are just background characters.

I've added my simself and a few Maxis Gallery households to my base save. I didn't like the Newbie family Maxis made for TS4 so I ended up remaking them from scratch (even Buddy right down to the spots). For the most part I let MCCC pull from my library to populate the world with Gallery sims others have made. It's really spoiled me because I hate seeing random townies the game spits out.

:open_mouth: Someone who remembers Liam O'Dourke! I've played so many stories with that premade.

I literally try to replace the entire ts4. ?? it's filled with my background characters. Some play significant roles in my sims lives and others are just for decor lol. I wish i could see my own sims more often but I still see tons of random townies

Yes but I never see him out and about. :( I have to send my sims to visit him. He's a loner so that might be why.

I had to google "Buddy newbie" to find out what you were talking about. I didn't realize the Newbies were in the PS version of TS2. Betty looks....ehm, different in that. :D

Not that recur from save to save. I do sometimes create or download sims to be NPCs, or modify existing townies if I want them to have a particular role in the story.

Sometimes I get tired of seeing the same townies in every save so I usually download a bunch of families and drop them into random houses. I just like being surprised when I meet new sims. When I run into Eliza Pancakes for the tenth time, I already know all her traits and her personality so there's not really any fun aspect of meeting anyone new.

As such, there's not really any townie overlap or recurring townies in any of my saves because I want them to feel like totally different universes or towns.

Yes, many.

Service NPCs, townies designed to show up in certain worlds, occult townies, special NPCs like village mayor, teens for high school etc.

Most of the time, I usually bring over a bunch of Sims I've made back on the Sims 2 with a few replacing old households. I do have a group of 12 adult men split between two clubs that all detest the opposing club and are set to fight each other, they both also always meet up at nightclubs so things get fun when they show up!
