Do you like Wants/Fears more than Whims?

Whims were better. You can't cancel wants and fears, or reroll them. And the fears make no sense and keep coming back, even when you do the things you're supposed to do get rid of them, which often doesn't even work (so the fear system is basically broken.)

Wants & fears have potential, but feel unfinished and need tuning. I like that they're strongly trait related, but it's big flaw that EP and GP traits are missing. I'm holding off buying more content until I see improvement.

I prefer the wants over whims, they are more personal to the sims which is something I have been wanting.

Fears are annoying, they happen to frequently and are meaningless because of this. I would prefer them to be more of a rare event that happens in a sims life with more challenging gameplay for over coming them.

I don't like either of them, but I could turn Whims off reliably and I can't turn Wants and Fears off so I hate Wants and Fears.

Whims were better, and at least you could turn them of if you got sick of them. I hate the new wants and fears addition, it's so hamfisted and leads to sims wanting to act/acting in ways that go completely against certain traits.

I got tired of whims a couple of years ago and I just ignored them. I was excited for wants and fears before I realized they were nothing like what I thought they'd be. I did have some worries in the back of my mind when the feature was announced that fears would do exactly what they're doing, taking over everything. I have found a couple of mods to make wants better and to deal with the fears. Sadly they're still having an effect even if my sims aren't getting full blown fears. I want the fears tuned way down and for the off switch to actually work.

I didn’t play with whims on to start with, and disliked wants/fears in Sims 2 because I thought they were too intrusive. But, people have complained for ages that they wanted them in Sims 4, so here we are. Now, I’m just waiting to be able to turn them off, also.

Wants and Fears should work better with traits and activities we make each Sim do regularly if I have a Sim snowboard a lot or go to the gym they should want to do those activities if they have not done them for a while it just seems so random now and mostly it's just listen to music. Not that we have a wants to snowboard option seeing as they hate updating the game for anything beyond base game.

Whims were better. They didn't always make sense but you could dismiss them. I don't like how wants are tied to fears. If you don't want to fulfil a specific want you get punished with a fear. But you can't dismiss the want. Another downside is you have to spend aspiration points to get rid of the wants/fears easily. The entire point of whims and wants is to earn a few extra aspiration points. What's the point if you have to spend those points to get rid of unwanted wants and fears.
Also the broken on/off switch in the option should be a top priority to fix because fears are horrible badly tuned. Not everyone is constantly unhappy with their job. High job levels should not get a fear of a dead end job. And if they overcome a fear, this fear should be gone for good, or at least for a very long time.

I really wish they would just have updated whims to work with more packs instead of these fears which make the game unplayable.

I played a LOT with whims, although modded to make more sense. No more whims to buy bee-boxes and 1x1 pools. I never disabled whims, and won't do it for wants/fears either.

I quite like the wants, but would like them even more if I could X out the ones I don't feel like doing, like currently my sim has the want to "join Culinary career". He's had it on and off for ages, since he was a teen. I would just like to remove it when it pops up. Dismissing the unwanted should already be a thing. More options is good.
