- dianed4856 years agoSeasoned AceI don’t know. I don’t like going to the dentist. Though since sims never brush their teeth, the dentist would have plenty of work!!
Could be fun to have sims with bad breath too. - Peapod796 years agoSeasoned AceI don't mind going to the dentist, but I just don't think there would be enough game play here. There already is a few different styles of teeth but really you can never see them in game anyways. *shrugs*
- This would be a great way to implement some of the features seen in the vet clinic but in a dental setting. The patient would be in a dental chair - however, in order to take a CBCT or panoramic radiographs (“normal” radiographs could be taken from the dental chair), depending on the patients needs, the patient would have to get up and travel to new imaging machines. Additionally the Dentist could own the clinic (like the vet) and hire hygienists to provide prophylactic services. Calling insurance companies and performing pathology consults could also be a cool gameplay feature. Also, the dentist could delegate sterilization duties or perform them themselves. Lastly, the dentist could go into the office lab and complete the behind the scene features of dentistry like working with models and waxing cases for crowns or veneers or even full mouth rehabs. I think this would be super fun way to implement additional clinic ownership options, as I personally love playing as a vet. Also, I picture the sim extracting a tooth and holding it up in the air proud of the accomplishment with the patient relieved in the chair that the tooth is gone.
- ChadSims26 years agoSeasoned RookieAt this point I have not found any career to be fun so i feel the same about a dentist career.

Only if I could be a dentist like the one in Little Shop of Horrors. I'd want it to be on the deviant end otherwise.... meh. Can't vote though cause they wouldn't do it that way. Then again I already have all the characters in my save so... would be nice if he actually had that job?
I was thinking the same thing! Lol - I think it would be fun to have a Dentist career and the possibility to get cavities or braces to boost confidence. Brushing your teeth is pretty pointless right now unless you’re desperate for a hygiene boost. Let there be repercussions for neglecting their teeth lol.
- LadyGray016 years agoSeasoned AceI said yes because I'm always up for the addition of new jobs.
BUT, I'd rather it be inactive. I rarely play the active careers, because they are boring after the first time you do them. So there's a whole group of jobs I'd like my Sims to have, but they never do.
Maybe I'm an oddball, but the inactiveness of jobs in Sims 2 actually appeals to me. They go to work, the clock speeds by while I watch the neighbors or the maid, a few minutes later I'm back to actively playing. I pick jobs based on personality or story, but they are mostly just a way to make money and do other things.
All that said, I understand why active jobs do appeal to other players and if they ever do add more, I'm sure it will make them happy. - Simmerville6 years agoLegendI love that sims can have different teeth, and I can see several comic situations in the detist chair, but to me it would be to similar to the doctor career. The only thing that could win me over would be if teeth became genetic, and kids had a very high chance of getting one of their parents' teeth style. I'd also welcome at least two teeth colors, one white and one slightly more natural - perhaps one quite horrible, too! Then - there might have been use of a dentist to pay to get fixed one's teeth. I'd basically love having sims with non-perfect teeth though, so they would hardly visit a dentist, LOL.
- ElDimentio6 years agoSeasoned AdventurerIt can be fun if they put some work into it. For example, let the branching paths be "Professional Dentist" and "Mischievous Dentist" with both requiring logic but the latter also Mischief. Let it be an active career where you have to interact with your patients and build a dental office that calms your patients with good music and decor. Or be a mischievous dentist and build a terrible office that puts your patients tense. If you're on the mischievous side you would have interactions like using antiquated tools and exaggerating how painful things are to traumatize Sims... It would integrate with reputation and give you a negative one, and if you reach the maximum level of the career, other Sims will get a Tense moodlet near you (even outside work) and lose their appetite (hunger need fills up a bit).
Okay maybe I got a bit carried away :P
