- I've never used mods before in my sims games.
It's not to say that I won't ever try -- I might. But I didn't need them with 1, 2, and 3 and they all ran fine for me and the gameplay wasn't lacking I thought. (I don't know if they had mods for 1?).
I'm fine playing 4 vanilla. I suppose it's because I don't know what I'm missing, maybe? But, yeah. It's OK without them for me.
Edit: I did use pose player once for a specific thing in Sims 3. I forgot about that. But other than that I haven't used mods or cc. - jupkmn7 years agoNew AceI didn't care about it, but a few months ago I started using and now I can only play with it. Maybe because I'm kind of a control freak lol

This mod pulled me out of that 'fire' so that my ancestral save could have the order by gender in which my ancestors were born into their households. As for my other save, it's based on the series in my siggie. My O/C's family had five children; 3 boys, the only girl and then another son later in their lives. Also, the eldest was married at the time of my novel's story opening and had a son. The third son was getting married, so that's an open book. The second son was a struggling musician and unmarried, so that's an open book. But the daughter's children are listed and named in the series. I'd like to keep them that way. ;)

I like it because it gives me control to set up the town as I please: add family relations, edit NPC's with impossible clothing, give jobs to unplayed background sims (I like to create friends and neighbors for my sims). And of course the adoption of orphaned children. A must for me, I can't stand the thought of those little ones just vanishing into thin air.
- Kiwicantdie7 years agoSeasoned AceIf this game had a form of story progression for the townies, I probably wouldn't even feel the need to use MCCC. But here we are, and now I can't even think about living without it. I would consider dropping it only if story progression comes.
- Yes! My moved out Sims get a life with MCCC and that is really important to me as a legacy player!

When I used to play legacies regularly, they did not allow mods according to the rules. Interesting that players have made the rules of legacies so easy now they are no longer a challenge. I still follow the Legacy rules of Sims 2 Legacies as I like a challenge - no cheats, no mods, etc, etc.
.- RadioAC7 years agoNew VanguardI did use it for a bit but I didn't like the population explosion that happened that made absolutely no sense for the households involved. I know you can tweak the settings but I actually don't like that it has so many features packed into one mod so I just pulled it all and plan to possibly install it later and just add the modules that I'm interesting in and add any others as and when I feel I need them.
- thatsnotsweg7 years agoSeasoned AceI have it. I could live without it though.
- A lot of me wants to give the "yes, and I couldn't live without it!"
Except that when I tried out TS3 with Origin Access I realized that the thing that seems most important to me that I use MCCC for -- the ability to customize age spans -- actually used to be a built-in feature. Makes me very uncertain as to how to define things.
