Do your sims ever die unexpectedly?

I'm playing lots of houses, an at times I find myself thinking that sims live for too long. Their general life stages are fine, them dropping dead after turning 80 years old is fine, too. I just wish that some of them would find an excuse to die anytime sooner. Not necessarily unexpectedly, but some of that too. Some from a visible or un known decease, or not. It gets a bit wrong when they all die at a predictable age.

I know we have deceases, and we have deaths by numerous reasons like electro shock, laughter and embarrassment. I had one sim die from laughter, and it felt quite refreshing as it added a new twist to that household's story. But I wish we also had genetic stuff, like being born with possibility of dying from xxx, and you never know whether it will happen or what age. And there could be a 50% chance of passing the risk on to children, so you would not even know who (might have the dna thing). With such a thing there would at least be a chance of some surprises. I have rules for heritage etc, but hardly get any fun from it beyond the basics.

Ever since 2014 I had only one sim die from electro. With 650 currently played sims in my save, and double that to include all my sims of the past, 1 sim is not a lot... Eating that poisoned "puffer fish?" voluntarily, sounds like suicide.

How about you? Do your sims drop like flies, or do they seem to live forever? Would you fancy more death surprises in the family?
