Most of my Sims travel to the City and Mt Komorebi for festivals. They travel to Sulani a lot too. I have retail hubs in Newcrest, Magnolia Promenade and Willow Creek as well as a big gift shop in Sulani and a florist in Mt Komorebi and when my Sims get their first home they head there to shop for home decor, paintings and collectables or furniture from a department store. I have a family zone in Newcrest with a play castle, water park and roller rink. I wasn't using Strangerville very much but it has a lot of spare capacity so I'm adding more things to visit there like a Star Wars themed rocket park and some stores. If my Sims want a pet they go to Brindleton Bay to rescue one but I dread that a bit as strays upset me 😭. I have an entertainment hub in Oasis Springs with a club, spa/gym and pub. So they travel there for clubbing, yoga classes, etc. There's a garden centre there too for gardeners to get any harvestables to plant. Most of my Sims use these worlds in their every day lives. There's a restaurant in Windenburg too but I don't use it that much.
I have some Sims that I send to Moonwood Mill and Forgotten Hollow to explore and the teens sometimes head off werewolf spotting after prom on dares. I have a haunted house ruin there too so they venture there at their own risk! I didn't intend to add those worlds as I'm extremely easily spooked but I was pleasantly surprised. I don't have any Vampires in the game though and Forgotten Hollow is currently deserted like a ghost town.
My favourite Sims are the ones that pack a tent, a campfire and a cooler and can sleep anywhere. I get them to camp out on a deserted Sulani island to do rags to riches challenges or in Sylvan Glade or the Forgotten Grotto to go fishing. I have some Sims that have lived in every world in their tents.
I love the Outdoor Retreat and Jungle Adventure gameplay too and my Sims spend weeks there. I've been updating Granite Falls and adding horse friendly lots there because I love taking them pony trekking through the forest in first person camera.
I like adding second homes to retail lots too.
I don't have many Sims that don't travel at least for shopping, entertainment and collecting.
I don't use Evergreen Harbour as much for travelling unless my Sims are makers looking for items like dyes. I don't use Britechester, Glimmerbrook or Copperdale much except for pack specific reasons. I like them a lot but don't have occasion to use those as much unless my Sims live there. I'm in Glimmerbrook right now but it's too small in my opinion and there's no space to really add anything there to visit. I don't use Batuu that much either but I sell the collectables in a space themed retail store in Willow Creek.
I add family members to base game worlds and the city. I get occasional vertigo and I sometimes have problems playing apartments in city living so I often use those as granny flats it's the camera dip from the apartment to the ground that gets me, I keep forgetting not to look! It's my own fault really. Lucky the festivals are all at ground level lol 😵💫.
