I can't quite recall now, but I do believe it was in Sims2. I'm certain someone can come along and correct me. I never played the Original Sims. But there was a function that allowed a Sim who desired some romance to either make a phone call or click on a computer to call up a Matchmaker. It had it's negative aspects. The Sim chosen wasn't always the most desirable. Too old, too young, whatever the case, but I do wish we could have a better way for our Sims to meet other Sims who are also looking for love. Right now, (as I have always done) I have the Sim in the game along with her family. My Sim has always managed to randomly meet her, that is up until now. Had I not needed to roll back to rid myself of a patch-related problem, this wouldn't be a concern. They had already met, randomly. However, the MWS pack is due out tomorrow and my couple still hasn't met. Face/palm. I played all day yesterday, too. She still hasn't shown her sweet face. She's a music lover, and he's a musician/Rock Star. I thought at first, since he's managed to meet both of her parents, that the target Sim was stuck at home babysitting her younger sisters. So, I created a twin for her, still she's a no-show. Today, I created a triplet for her returning the names I had originally. The other two Sims, for two of his brothers, are also in the game. They have made themselves equally as scarce. I'm beginning to think things are purposefully stacked up against me. :open_mouth: Currently, I have my Sim chatting. Next, he's set to look for a pen-pal. Yeah, I'm to that point of desperation. I may just give in and have him stop by her house …

I, also, remember that feature. If your sim paid the larger fee, you had a better chance of getting a better match, but there was always a chance of a complete failure. Drama! I've had some luck in this game having a sim frequent only one community lot(Park, bar, hangout). After 2-3 visits, the target sim has shown up. Visiting the home hasn't always worked for me. The particular sim just wasn't at home or left before introduction.

Oh! I read and voted on your poll thread, @GalacticGal , but reading through this one I've come up with a new idea that might work? With MCCC if you place a mailbox on a community lot, like Orcid a Go-Go, you can summon any sim to the lot. Either by knowing their name or by scrolling through a list of all sims until you find the one you're looking for. Hope this helps!

@GalacticGal @phantasmkiss I think this would be a lot of fun to have in TS4, too. I sometimes "ship" Sims in my mind, and wonder if they'll ever find each other. The matchmaker might increase the odds of that happening...or open the doors to all kinds of other possibilties.

Add her to a singles club if you have Get Together and have them meet somewhere! That way they could meet naturally or even other lovely sims! I usually have romantic and friendly interactions via Club Activities turned on too. That way they can gravitate to the sim of their choice

I use the club method too usually I just fiddle with the requirements until get the sim I want in the options. I remember the matchmaker I stopped using her after the horror stories cause ts2 had some nasty actual game breaking bugs. You could find one that may lead to crashing or needing to reinstall when she picked one of the npcs for you. I prefer the dating site thing we had in ts3 you could set your traits and such or lie about them and when you got matches they would meet you for a date and either give you a chance or get upset about you lying. Fun times, I hope if we get something like that it'll be a freebie for everyone that doesn't come with bugs that kill the game.

Yeah, I'd love an online dating or matchmaker thing in The Sims 4. Bring in another way for lonely Sims to romance. :)
