I miss the butler in sims 3 as well he would make food!
but this maid what a sloppy excuse , she comes, watches my food spoil washes a plate and leaves...... like girl no.
I used to love the butler it was a bit temperamental but was great to have around.- moderateosprey10 years agoSeasoned AceAn old thread, but a good topic.
Yeah, the maid is still unreliable, but does seem to work most of the time - better than it did, at any rate.
I have actually found a use for the maid. The maid in my game is a pretty female, but she has the evil trait and so the only character in my game that uses her is Jacques Villareal. They get on famously. - I stand corrected but what I understand about Sims 4's cleaning system, is that it seems a toilet pot, for instance, can only be cleaned once it's officially dirty and smelly. It can't be cleaned just after a sim has used it, which gives the maid much less to do, and increases the chance that the members of the household will still have to clean their own plumbing on the weekend.
- I've stopped using maids ever since GT...Now I have a club for cleaning, repairing, and cooking :p It works better than the maid service...for no cost, and less bugs lol.
- I never use maids or repairmen, I clean up after myself and repair my broken objects.
- I order a maid to come regularly and they come whenever they want. House is still more dirty than it is clean because they hardly come and when they do come they do the minimum and leave. Absolute worst
- I usually have my sims clean themselves cuz the maids are so bad but then I dl a HUGE mansion that sits on a 50x50 lot (really amazing btw). So with so many rooms, bathrooms, things breaking and sims leaving stuff all over the place...the place was never clean. And having my sims scrubbing their own toilets really didn't go with the storyline b/c they were suppose to be very wealthy snobby well-to-do.
Then I got the idea from somewhere on this forum for a live-in maid. SO dl a "maid" from the exchange and added her to the household, used the maid cheat and now I have a full time maid cleans automatically, repairs, gardens, ...oh I LOVE her. I wish now EA would add/fix the service sims b/c I've had the repairs sims leave before they fixed everything and had to call them back for another charge. - TBH I think Maids are pointless you have to pay $40 plus or $20 depending if it's a scheduled maid or not but still that's alot of money but that's not the point i'm getting at. Whenever I got a maid I barley saw the maid and the maid would like clean the dishes and then leave and not finish any other work or clean dirty counters when they were dirty and besides that sometimes the maid would stand there and do nothing or yes go into the bathroom when my sim was using it. You have to pay alot of money for a pointless and useless maid. That's why I like butlers better they get the job done and do even a bit more. Even though you pay like I think it was $175 dollars at first and that is alot but you only pay $12 an hour and they get it all done with. In my opinion I rather waste the money on a Butler and I like Butlers alot better.
- witchitty8 years agoRising TravelerI do miss Bonehilda too but yea, don't use maids often or regularly like most have said here - only if I have a really big garden I may hire a gardener to help.
- In Sims 3 they had the beds to make, but in 4 they don't need to do that, so my maid will put one plate in the dishwasher and then just stand there for a couple of hours before leaving. It's kinda pointless.
