Does swimming around help lose weight?

From what I can see in my game, swimming neither makes the Sim lose weight nor gain muscles. The most effective way to lose weight in the game - without gaining muscle mass - is still jogging as far as I know. And having the Sim only eat salads for a few days.

Yes, but you have couple it with a good diet. I don't know what you're eating, but a 'healthy diet' in The Sims generally involves 'starving yourself'.

I think it's slower than your full on gym though.

For what it's worth, once I thought my Sim was fat and she was actually pregnant. When she dropped the sprog (to my surprise) she was really fit.

I always make them eat caprese salad or other types of salad but you telling me I've to only eat salads from now on? I'm already avoiding cakes and high calorie food like camper stew.. :/

It's abit too much tbh..

I haven't even noticed much difference from jogging except very very slighty after jogging off the limit til they stop cuz their hygiene is too low..

I think they lowered how much sims can lose weight especially by jogging..

Yeah but what I noticed after they get close half of YA age bar they start to gain weight? And especially after having a kid..

Although my sims gained more weight than they should they avoiding high calorie and eating healthy food 90% of the time..other times are normal food like spaghetti

Also they're active and swim around every day so they definitely need to tune this cuz it seems swimming alot doesn't help weight at all

Actually I meant have them eat salad for a few days, not forever. And by that I meant the Garden Salad or the Superfood Salad (if your Sim has the Wellness skill). The recipes from the Gourmet Cooking skill are generally more fattening than the receipes from the Cooking skill. Anyway, eating light meals for a few days combined with jogging every day (until they get the 'good workout' moodlet) is what helps in my game. And it was just a suggestion, perhaps someone else has an idea that is more suitable to your playstyle.

One of my restaurants serves Taste of Diet icecream flavour. It gets sims to lose weight gradually, that is, depending on how fat the sim is they may need to eat it a few times in order to lose all the weight.

No I'll try your solution but what else besides garden salad cuz it doesnt satisfy their hunger and they won't get the tasty meal moodlet..

Others salads apparently seems to not help so only garden salad?

I think working out on the treadmill is more efficient than jogging, especially at higher levels of intensity.

Ioga is also a very efficient way of loosing weight and gain muscle.

It should be most efficient way to lose weight though since all your body is moving..

The only way to lose weight per se is to increase your exercise skill. And as you know there are many activities you can do to make that happen, one of them is swimming. But activities emselves dont make your sim to lose weight... not one single of them. Now, once you maxed the exercise skill, i dont have a clue how that works. I guess doing exercise activities after that should contribute to make your sim slim. Its not really clear.
