I think hashtag campaigns are about as useful as boycotting businesses. And the use of "abuse" is way off mark. Sure, it has different meanings but the vast majority of English speakers (native or not) will not go to "abuse of power" or "misuse", they'l go to violence and severe mistreatment. I've seen at least one person respond that they thought it was about EA's employees rather than a game.
Not to mention that if it's about Sims, there's nothing in the hashtag that indicates that.
It's obviously necessary for those participating, I just personally think it's pointless.
