earning money with Cottage Living?

I’d say put a dozen eggs for sale on Plopsy and see what happens. ? Although Plopsy isn’t basegame so there goes that idea…

• I’m sure whole produce and stuff like jams, milk and cheese can be sold at the market or via one of those shops in Flitwick?
  
• Perhaps there are monetary prizes to be won at the weekly fair?
  
• Run errands for those villagers?
  
• Breed a truckload of chickens and sell them?
  
• Collect gifts from bunnies and birds and sell them?
  

I have no idea really but I think that’s how I’d run the farm.

I wouldn't worry about income, sims tend to be able to turn everything into income. Not sure if they will become millionaires by selling milk, but you could try set up a milk farm with a shop on the large 64x64 lot and sell milk and cheese. When the cow is about to die you can trade it for meat instead and no income is lost.

You can probably earn a lot of money on farming in cottage living, there are things that you can unlock which seem to help you a lot with gardening. Some seem pretty overpowered.

A sim can bring in a tidy living currently with a garden selling harvestable so it should carry over to Cottage Living.

Unfortunately there maybe a bug still present that may turn the crop back into a dirt pile that can tank that income. So selling the eggs, milk products, canned goods, and cross stitching on Plopsy will probably be a good alternative if that happens.

You can also go foraging and fishing and sell whatever you find/catch - unless you eat them, instead.

I'm trying to put together a rough outline of the way I want to handle my rags to riches farm. I don't want it to be too hard but by the same token too easy might be dull. I've never played R2R before and so far all I've come up with is: no painting or writing because you get money so fast. No selling frogs for the same reason. I think I won't dig for treasure, either. I really want to try getting by just gardening, gathering, canning, etc, and doing crafts. I haven't decided if I'm using Plopsy or not. Probably not, at least for a while.

I love the look of this pack and everything about it sounds wonderful. I want to explore it and really have fun with it; it appeals to me on so many levels I just can't wait!! I figured I'd try something different, go full-on farmgirl and see how things go. I may play off the grid. That'll be really different, for me! The point for me probably won't be going from $0 to $1,000,000. I may opt to move to a larger farm, later. I want my sim to have to work hard and suffer a little. Of course, I may play this way for ten minutes and say "my poor sim must have a big TV!!" and cheat her money back. LOL

Lol. :p Sounds like me. I've never been able to last a rags to riches for more than a couple sim days.

I'm still deciding if I will try doing rag to riches with this pack but I will definitely try to get my sims to make their own power with eco lifestyle at least

You don't have to sell things on Plopsy or wherever either. A quick money maker if you just don't want to do the simplest thing and sell directly from your Inventory is the yard sale tables. There should be a base game version AFAIK. Just mark the prices up 200% and sell... any kind of junk you want. From eggs, home grown veggies to things found in the forest, random gifts from NPC Sims, what have you.

Not only in Cottage Living but if you want to do a net profit during winter, buy a chrismas present heap. I have several times gotten things like expensive stoves, high end easels, other stuff you either have use for (replace your old stove and sell the old one, or just sell the new one for example).

For Cottage Living specifically tho, gardening is always OP in this game when it comes to making money. A tip: Harvest everything you can at the Spice Festival. You should get some good spices, flowers and veggies there that are better than what you get in beginner seed packages. Snapdragons are almost guaranteed.

I love it when my sim's house is located near some naturally growing fruit trees or vegetables in the neighbourhood. It's like a fuss free personal garden. I have a sim in Del Sol Valley who always has lemons and another in Windenburg that always has cherries. ?
