Eco Lifestyle Green Footprint Lighting Issue

I know this is a reported bug with EL that the sun rays and aurora become blown out and take over the lighting in the game, but I have not experienced this until now. I had a save game file the was created before EL and I always play in that. However with the most recent patch having bug fixes in new games only I started a new master save file. Playing in that with a new family and Im now experiencing the lighting blow out that I didnt get in the old save even on the same lot. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated as when its snowing its almost impossible to see anything on the lot.

  • There are several tips in the bug report, like turn the monitor brightness down; don't zoom out on the house; set the foot print to neutral; download a mod.

I zoom into the house to avoid the light. I will also not have all neighborhoods green, until they fix it.

Here a mod who's helping with the buggy lighting and other stuff.

Thank you for the suggestion, I should have said in my OP that Im a vanilla player so no mods for me to fix the problem. I saw somewhere when I was googling this that there is a way to cheat the footprint back to neutral as the area is not dropping on its own. Anyone who knows the cheat that would be very helpful thanks!

Its not so much a cheat as much as it is a way to control the eco-footprint. I have the some "cross your heart and hope to bali ha'i" from IL (the tiki torches) around my sims patio. they have an eco-footprint of industrial-3. Turn them on when the eco-footprint starts to het to close to going green, and turn them off when the eco-footprint gets too close to industrial. That way, it stays in the neutral zone. I'm having the same issues with the sun rays in my game as well, and I also don't use mods. I also change the default concrete that is under the roof which has an idustrial-1rating to a concrete that has an industrial-2 rating, to slow the rise towards eco-green. My method seems to be working rather well.
  • I have the same issue, but I use the mod that was posted and turn all my worlds/lots to neutral.

It's just a typical TS4 issue, everything they do is one extreme to the other, they don't know how to do anything half way, it's all or nothing.
  • UPDATE: My game seems to have fixed the issue, although it was a strange process. Same lot and family and eco foot print, BUT I made 10 different "save as" games of the original to work on building them a new house. Please dont ask why I made 10 different ones, I couldn't decide what to build. But anyway on the 10th game the lighting blow out was gone, nothing had changed other than it being a new "save as" game, number 10 to be precise and Im happy its gone. I just wish I knew what changed to fix it more consistently.

(please dont mind the half finished house here, its still being constructed.)
