- You could try a challenge, like the Legacy Challenge or the Apocalypse challenge.

I've been playing Sims 4 off and & on since I bought it. The only thing that seems to happen is Go to work...school...study... Even finding a spouse and marrying is boring - there's no zeal and romance about it lol. But anyway, trying to give it another go! Any ideas on what I could do or how are you playing your game?
If you're into Skills or Achievements, that's a cool way to play. I have a Sim that is almost level 10 in everything, so I'm still playing her, as I want to see if I can maximize all skills.
I also like to set my Sims with polar opposite traits and see what happens. For example, my Sim who has the family oriented trait, married someone that doesn't like children & he gets in a very angry mood when he's around kids. I have another household with a Sim with high Mischief (public enemy) paired with a Sim who is Good. That's fun too. The pranks that the Mischief Sim pulls definitely puts a strain on the marriage lol.
I have to create a little drama in my game to keep it interesting. I also have a set of twins...one good and one evil. I like to explore possibilities. - Mmdrgntobldrgn11 years agoSeasoned Ace

In keeping with the above some handy links :)
The Legacy site with the above challenge rules. http://www.simslegacychallenge.com/
Asylum Challenge (I think these are ts2 or 3 based rules but the basics should be the same) http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?t=335041
My twist on the above is a broke start method of gameplay: https://www.pinterest.com/melindadgarren/broke-start-challenge-sims-4/
The complete aspiration list, there's some interesting ones in this list http://sims-online.com/sims-4-achievements-guide-list/
From older generations there's the queen bee challenge: Move in a guy, have 6 kids then move him plus kids out, repeat, keep going until either your sim is to old to reproduce or there are no more unrelated houses in either world.
From s3 there's the 100 baby challenge, don't know if anyone's tested it with s4.
Over at Carl's Guide forums (don't have to be registered to read) they have many challenges: S3 most should adapt http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php?board=6.0 S4 http://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/forum/index.php/board,85.0.html
and from here http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/788042/list-of-challenges-legacy-and-other-for-sims-4#latest
Have fun. :) - I think they made Sims 2 is free on Origin a few months back.
- The Room Challenge kept me playing for a while, I would suggest that one.
http://forums.thesims.com/en_US/discussion/793808/sims-4-room-challenge/p1 - Try challenges and complete goals like others have mentioned. If all else fails, watch lifesimmer in youtube and see how she plays the sims 4 in her videos. She has a style that can inspire you to play it similar like her. She is like in part 50 something in her sims 4 videos that last around 30 minutes. Worth a try.
- MODS! I mean if you're into that kind of thing... But I simply can't play without mods to make the game more interesting

She actually dives deep into the gameplay, and actually plays the game. Which is why she's having so much fun with it.
I have a few ways that I play, because it's really good to find your playstyle. Playing a base game without really having a point to it, will get dull eventually.
- 100 Baby Challenge: So much fun. Really interesting to play, and it does start off dull but once you get into it it's amazing.
- Hobby Challenge: Basically set yourself a target amount of money you want to reach (eg. 250k) and try and make it without getting a career before your Sim dies. So becoming an Author on the PC, selling plants, creating furniture and selling it, etc.
- Legacy challenge is always fun.
- Starting with 0 cash, and building your house from scratch (known as the Rags to Riches challenge) and it also requires no jobs. So you may have to steal peoples food from parks, make money by writing books at the library, and even sleeping on benches on the side of the road.
- Runaway Teen challenge is also popular.
Also, making sure you complete your Sims lifetime aspirations is good. Level 10 their careers and earn them skills that unlock new Gameplay.
I imagine when Get To Work comes out and you can start your own Business etc. and actually visit Shops, Cafe's and other places, that it won't be as hard to get bored. Which is why it's the perfect first Expansion.
I would have been so mad if the first pack was like "World Adventures" or "University" etc."SelenaGrey;13281774" wrote:
Uninstall.
Buy and install the sims 2. >:)
The Sims 2 is an incredible game, and is the best. But for a lot of people, the game has been played for 10 years and the experience of new and interesting gameplay runs low.
I personally still play The Sims 2 (playing it now) but a lot of people have just had enough.
