- DaWaterRatSeasoned AdventurerI tend to set their winter clothes to sweaters and slacks/jeans with shoes suitable for inside with only one or two set as actual heavy winter wear, so it's not as jarring when they're wearing winter clothing indoors.
How much they change also depends on where your sims live. Some worlds get colder/warmer than others.
Also if you have a thermostat in your sims house it helps because they'll wear everyday after taking their showers/baths if the thermostat is set to counter whatever the temperature is. - samsam713New SpectatorThat’s the reason why I have been advocating for making Hot and Cold outfits sub-categories to the other tabs. Sims should have appropriate weather clothing for every type of attires that they wear.
- It does not really matter what they wear. It does however does matter when they wear whatever. I am allowed to assign a bathing suit for winter wear and my Sim will be fine in a blizzard. I don't do it but I am trying to make a point. The clothing categories don't make sense and don't work correctly. example: If I have a black and white party or a dinner party in the summer and it's a heat wave some guests if not all will die. I learned the hard way! The guests and even my played Sims will not auto change their cloths and they will get overheated and die. They need to have summer formal wear etc. It's seems like the temperature effects on Sims were an after thought and don't work well with earlier released content. Don't plan a wedding in a heat wave! Somethings are obvious, like it does not make sense to throw a pool party in winter but I should be able to plan an outdoor wedding without death. Forget about the winter wonderland wedding. Formal cloths don't protect Sims from the cold. It's messed up and that's why I play with temperature effects off and don't care when or what my Sims wear. They need to think more before releasing packs or free content.
- mariefoxprice83New AdventurerIt would be great if we had an outerwear category for coats and hats, and also a way for sims to automatically remove their shoes in their own homes.
- samsam713New SpectatorI’ve suggested the whole system to be that each category (apart from swimming, perhaps) have hot and cold subsections. Still, some members replied that it would be a hassle setting up outfits in CAS.
I think having hot/cold differences in each occasion makes way better sense than the system we have now. - Chicklet45368Rising TravelerWhen I create "everyday outfits" I create one for each season and I use the exact same outfit for hot/cold weather (except I always create an extra "winter" outfit with a coat and gloves for when it's really cold and snowing or they are going to be outside during the winter. I don't like when my sim changes clothes into something totally different from their everyday clothing automatically because they got warm or chilled, it's pretty jarring to me.
- MoonlightGrahamNew ScoutI thought my daughter and I were the only ones who create multiple everyday outfits. Apparently we're not alone!
She makes one for every season, and now she's creating rainy day options. The big, heavy winter coats only get "assigned" to Sims if they'll be outside; otherwise they're in sweaters, etc. "Kita5399;c-17578706" wrote:
If the weather in your game causes this to happen, and you aren’t happy with it, you can always make all three outfits the same. You simply click off the hot or cold weather tag/filter, and then have access to any outfit in game for those categories. Also using the thermostat indoors will help, and your Sim should wear the everyday outfit inside if the thermostat is set correctly. Which world are you playing in?.. as that shouldn’t really happen unless the weather is always hot/heat wave or freezing.
It happens in all of my worlds. I use mods so maybe they're messing with the temperature?
i have the same problem. even when my sims are inside with ther thermostat on, if they just came back from outside and its cold, they wont take off their cold weather outfit. even if its warm in the house. i have to use mccc to change their outfits quickly. it might be caused by the mccc mod but i doubt it. can someone help?- @d0ll_v0m1t That’s just how the game is, unfortunately. I use a mod from LittleMsSam because it drives me crazy. Look up her random small mods and search for “Change into Everyday when inside”.
