Family Meal

Question

I would love my sims to be able to have a family meal on the table without moving, toddler included. Then have one sim clear up all the plates and wash them in the kitchen sink or dishwasher. :)

If that can't happen, does anybody have any tips how to have a successful meal at the table. I currently am able to get the toddlers sitting at the table by using the child's chair, so that is one thing that works. However the call to meal options have just been getting ignored and sims just stop eating and decide to hug each other whilst eating a meal. :s

What I do is get the sims into a group, put the food on the table and choose the option to grab a plate together. If you want to sit at the table I'm not sure if it will work with toddlers. I usually end up putting the food on the coffee table so everyone eats in the living room. Toddlers can grab their own plate then and sit on the sofa.

I've successfully pulled it off with toddlers at the table.  Have an adult feed the toddler first, then grab their own plate. You may have to tell them to sit to keep them from wandering off. But a group chatting before  they eat  might all stay in the kitchen and ist down on their own.  At least that's how  it's worked for me.
