- The game is good but it could definitely use some improvements. Right now, it feels bland and basic. It feels like a stripped down version. There isn't much "intuition" going on. The hospital for example is way too big, and the workers just stand there slacking off while I'm doing everything. For 49 USD, I did expect more. That's 49 bucks off my wallet after all.
And on my first character I cheated on the dr career just so I can check out the differences. So far, it seems like the nurse and the dr do the same things? There doesn't seem to be a variation or limitation in tasks. And when I do a surgery, there should be at least one OR nurse to assist me. When I do lab samples, the med tech should also help. Work feels like you're doing everything in here, there is no synergy. Front desk should be able to help admit patients and discharge those that are not being treated and referred to another doctor etc - nortonsapple11 years agoNew SpectatorI'm getting the same patients repetitively as well. Also I don't know if it is just my game but I can't seem to interact with Co workers outside of the office. I can text and chat but I can't invite or travel with them.
- I started the Doctor career and now all my friends that my kids had and love interest and all the friends that the adult sim had has disappeared. I now the only people on my list are my family members. I don't mean to complain but I expected something like a shopping district where there would be more shops or we were able to go to the hospital or the other new venues freely instead of only being able to go there when its just time to go.
- nortonsapple11 years agoNew SpectatorYes, I agree with the number of lots being a issue. What shopping district, that takes a loading screen to get to, only has 4 lots? Wow, I can make 4 stores. Better choose wisely. How many lots did the sims 2 have in the shopping district.....well enough to make you feel like you were doing something. Creating something. You can't create a environment in here, urban, country, upscale, etc. Please let us edit what surrounds our lots. The sandbox is no longer applicable to the sims gameplay. We no longer create and share our worlds. Just play yours as directed.
By the way, we need clothes for the aliens other than that jumpsuit. I happen to like my sim's alien features and shouldn't have to be punished with that outfit just to show it.
I know your goal was to be different from all the other sims before but don't forget your fans those who have played the game from day one. Sims 1 day one. We buy the games and the expansions to do more with the game we love not less.
Sometimes you cut your nose to spite your face.
I like going to work with my sim, but the goals are silly. Just let me play without direction. It's not needed. Our imaginations are in fine order. - Bugs:
- When my sims woohoo the initiator is always unsatisfied. I have tested this repeatedly.
- At retail lots sims will walk behind the counter to view the display cases from behind. It creates a swarm, which gets annoying.
- When multiple sims want to checkout at retail lots there is a chance that a sim will get stuck in a loop of requesting to checkout. I ran the store for 21 sim hours straight and this only occurred with one sim. She was a randomly generated sim who came to my shop. The store owner had already checked her out. She went outside to eat and then I encountered this bug with her requesting to checkout.
I did not have mods in my game when any of these bugs occurred.
Aside from the bugs, I am very much enjoying GTW. I was worried that it would not meet my expectations. However, I was pleasantly surprised. It even delivered some things that I was not expecting(such as being able to stock and sell directly from the commercial freezer & warmer). The "deli" display/counter is also a nice item. It will be very easy to create grocery stores now.
I have not explored all of the careers yet. Although the scientist career did not disappoint. I am very pleased with it. I hope that we get many more professions in the future.
I will say that running a retail shop can be very challenging in the beginning. It's a lot of work with only a few employees. It's not a good choice for a sim with no family to run solo because employees can only stay for a certain amount of hours per day. 24-hour convenience store type lots get tricky. I'm not sure if an increment of hirable employees may be in the works for a future patch. But, it would be appreciated.
Being able to select potential employees from either a list of known sims or a complete list of sims in the neighborhood would also be a good improvement. - When my sims woohoo the initiator is always unsatisfied. I have tested this repeatedly.

I wish I could but for some reason, it's not letting me play the game! Even though I pre-ordered months ago! It's still showing it as greyed out (even though there's no option to download or install.) Any ideas on what's wrong?
Try going into your Origin account, right clicking on your Sims 4 game and clicking "view game details." That's how I found the game. It won't actually show up on Games, it's like an add on for The Sims 4.- I do not like how expansion packs purchased on a disc still force you to download the game rather than take it off the disc. If this is how all future expansions will work, it's a huge negative for me.
- Please, PLEASE.
Next time you add an occult, do not lock them out of the CAS options that are available to the regular sims.
I can't stress this enough. I don't understand why you would do this. I am talking about aliens not being able to wear regular clothes or to have hair on their alien form, of course.
Aliens in The Sims 2 and 3 were still unique without being locked out of these options, so please don't mock my intelligence by saying that it was for them to "look unique". You know what makes sims look unique? OPTIONS.
It just seems so illogical to make regular clothes and hair unavailable for them. Everything is already there. The aliens have the exact same model of the regular sims, why would anyone think this was a good idea?
It boggles my mind, really. - First, love the idea behind this.Game is having issues: --world clock not in synch with work clock (i.e. time at bottom of screen says one thing, time at top under work tasks says another ... impossible to tell what Sim time it is)--Sim inventory getting lost (items literally disappear when inventory window is open, closing the window and reopening work unless you're scrolling...then issue replicates)
- I like the way professions were done, but the new "world" is a serious let down. It should have been at least the same size as the other livable worlds not four lots.
