Fences disappear after adding gates??

Yesterday I was building a family farm on the Sims 4 and quickly ran into some weird glitches. The main annoying one was that if I even dragged a gate over a section of fence, the fence would disappear and there is NOTHING you can do to get it to reappear. The game says you can't place a fence because there is a gate there, but I never even clicked to place a gate. Luckily, I was able to fix the holes in fences using shrubs to cover them up, but I was wondering if this has happened to anyone else and how to fix it. I use no CC or mods.

In addition, there was a glitch where the first floor roofing of all buildings except the main house appear and disappear on and off. Adding another floor has the same problem. It doesn't matter so much for my current build, but I was also wondering how this could be fixed since it might be detrimental in other builds.
