finding gardening collectibles

Is my sim supposed to know WHERE to go to find gardening collectibles like lemon, sage, cherry, etc? I mean, obviously I can google and I can find where to go but is there a way for my sim to find out on their own, or is the only way to explore every single neighborhood?

  • The only way I knew was to explore and look for them. If I remember correctly, the gardening section of the phone was for crossbreeding plants. I did that organically in the beginning, but after six years I just order seed packs use the buy debug cheat for specific ones.

haha yeah, I def have to cheat to find in debug. It would make it more fun if as their gardening skill increased, they would get a hint about where to find another set of seeds so its a bit of a scavenger hunt type deal. It would make for fun gameplay.
  • I you don't want to cheat you have to camp out and wait for plants to mature. Carl has a gardening guide so at least you know where and when to send your Sim. If you have Seasons I wish you luck.
  • You can go to the festivals if you have City Living. There is also a produce market stall during the flea market and on Wednesdays I think. Some seeds can be bought on the phone under purchase gifts. The road stall in Sulani and the magic realm has some seeds to buy.

Here is something that helped me out a lot. https://www.carls-sims-4-guide.com/skills/gardening/

scroll down and you will see each harvestable and where it can be found ;) To open seedpackets also counts towards a collection ;)
  • Hmm...

I just sort of know where a lot of plants are growing after all these years. Don’t know if getting a new plant after splicing two has been raised but I remember starting a save with a gardener and the leaving it because I just newer got the never plants.
