Getting started with Horses? How to pick my first horse?

I know very little about horses, either real or Sim. I am looking forward to adopting two or three into a ranch build where they will be kept by some of my favorite Sims. The ranch is all ready....

Good start, thanks Folks. So, will be making my own in CAS

@Simmingal This ranch is set up with a large converted barn with four indoor horse bed and another two outdoors. Then the is a space with a basic jump and the barrels for training. Location is the 50x50 in Chestnut Ridge.
I think this family breds the horses and gives some training…
So, they’ll need a pair to start…
