Greyed out travelers

I noticed this too. Strange.

It's a bug probably caused by the phone update. It's already under investigation.

In order to invite someone to travel with you they have to be on the same lot as you. I tried it out and that is the workaround. My sim was home alone, her entire panel was greyed out. I had her invite her friends to "hangout on current lot" and as soon as the stepped on to the lot their picture was no longer greyed out.

I have that happening in my game too. It's a bug....just add that to the list of all the other bugs this patch/EP has brought.

It's a bug, I wrote about it on EA bug reports. The workaround is to press M and travel this way. You can choose sims then to travel with you.

If you hit M to access the map you can choose who you want to travel with. It's what I do till they fix it. Hope it helps.

That's weird. Any mods ? ( I know it's an annoying question, but most people don't update their mods), and if you select a lot to travel to, still no further choice?

No I'm playing vanilla. I tried this for the very first time after I had read about the workaround in one of Crinrict's posts. Other players also reported that M lets their whole families travel. I will give it another try.

'M' does allow an entire household to travel. It's a great workaround for a single household. I often have multiple households in my traveling groups and 'M' doesn't help in those cases. I still have to get the sims from the other households onto my lot to travel as a group. I have groups consisting of multiple households more than half the time.
