Unless you're exaggerating your issue it sounds like a bug. Obviously it's not meant to be that none of your plants can grow in any of the seasons.

Nope not Exaggerating at all, this has been going on since seasons has come out and the changed gardening. Have tried everything and I repaired my game last week to see if it was the cause. Right now she was able to plant beans, but the only thing growing is peas and it is mid Spring Still cold and snowing now and then.

When I'm not sure of if what is going on is a mod issue or not, I will remove my mods folder and then go into my game. I will then attempt to see if it is working again or not. If it is then I will quit and not save my game, because in my case CC and other stuff would have been removed. I will then try to figure out which mod was causing the problem for me, and go from there.

Another issue could be that the game just needs to be repaired.

there's also using greenhouses and planters. even just building walls, putting a roof over, then deleting the walls or replacing them with fences should leave the area listed as 'sheltered' so plants will grow in all seasons (just produce a bit less...produce...)

I have this problem no matter whether there is mods or not.nothing but peas are in season to grow.I have tried green houses, with and without floors, with and wirhout planters. Nothing will grow in the Science lab greenhouse because they can't be planted in there either. I have given up trying to have a garden because of it and qill have to give up the Science career also, because I can't get the plants I need to make the serums and this has only been a problem since seasons came out and gardening has been changed! Beginning to hate the gardening aspect of the game.

I'm guessing as others have said, you must have a bug in your game. I hope you can get this resolved soon. Anyway, I can help you with getting plants for the Science career. Although, that must be another bug in your game too because they supposedly fixed it in a recent patch. Plants grow at the lab and at festivals in my game now. Is your game fully updated?

Anyway, to get plants you need to make serums since you can't grow much of anything in your home garden, just click on the plant pots in the lab (or at home if you have any) and order seed packets for the type of plant you need. You might have to order more than one, but it's a workaround.

Sims can also get plants and seed packets by using the 'purchase gifts' option on their cell phones. The individual plants will cost 'much' more than getting them from the plant pots though, but the seed packets still cost the same. Just an idea, I hope it helps!

One last thing, I'm sure you probably have by now, but just wanted to make sure it's been tried as suggested. Have you repaired your game? I always do that after updating with a patch or after loading a new game pack. I'd also clear out your cache files and delete the localthumbnail package file too. :)

You're welcome @HIstoricgal , crossing my fingers things work out for you. I thought of one more way you can get plants, and it's free too! If you have City Living, there is an abundance of plants available at the Romance festival and I think the Spice festival as well. Might give that a try to get the plants your Scientist Sim needs. Good luck!

EDIT: Also, there are produce stands in the community areas at times. And not just during festivals, I've seen them there along side food stalls quite often.

There's usually one in the Arts Quarter (near the Arts Center), and I've seen one in the Fashion District. You can find some of the base game produce there -- it's a good place to find tomatoes especially which are hard to find in the wild (only plant I know of is in Oasis Springs).

The plants at the Science Lab not growing is a known bug -- the issue is there has to be an active Sim on the lot at 6am and of course that's well before work time. Home gardens/greenhouses should be fine unless you've got an outdated mod or a bug in the game. Test it in a new vanilla save and see if you have issues with planting -- you should be able to plant even out of season, they'll just stay as mounds of earth until the proper season comes along.

The only other in the wild tomato plant I've ever found is at the Hare Square park in Windenburg. It seems to be randomized though with what you'll get in those planter boxes, because sometimes they're not there when I start a new save. You can also get a tomato from the Ranger Station in Granite Falls.

My klepto Sim works as a chef and often brings home a tomato he swiped from work. That's where I got them from in my game. Same with onions. ^_^;;
