HELP! Celebrities are invading my game!

For those who keep having problems with celebs flooding their game and are not afraid of using mods, you might want to try my

townieoverhaul_lessfame Mod over at Deichschaf Sims.

TownieOverhaul_LessFame (MiscMods): With this mod, celebrities will no longer invade all lots in your neighbourhoods. The mod also reduces the generation of new townies significantly. The only Sims that will be generated are those with special traits or careers required. There is a separate package for the Jungle natives. As soon as you install that package, no further natives will be created. For reduced celebrities in restaurants please download my restaurantguestoverhaul mod. Important note: This mod is not compatible with my small townieoverhaul mod.

@zoeisabelia: There are tons of great celebs uploaded to the Gallery. If I were in your shoes, I would download some of those and place them in my world as townies.

Does the option stop your own sims becoming celebrities if you want them to be?

Yeah, I think you have to turn it off for the whole game save as a whole and not individual worlds.

I could have sworn the Guru’s said that wouldn’t happen which means it’s some type of bug.

If you enable or disable fame for your sim, do they keep their setting when you stop playing with them or do they reset to default?

They keep it. Any sim that's gained fame or is already a celebrity as whatever level keeps it.

Are you sure about this? In the game it says that fame, perks, etc. will reset to zero. It seems you'd have to start over from scratch if you disable fame for a single sim.

So far its a bug, because my game I only seen one or 2 celerbities on the community lot and have not seen the paparazzi at all. I am guessing it may have something to do with the acting career that needs famous townies and the Dine out Restaurant pull from the same NPC pool.

Edit: Note non of my sims are in the acting career.

Kayla and Brytani are also in my game so I guess they are part of the game. Not sure if I'll keep them. I plan on having Holly, Dirk, and Dustin all live together and lower their fame down to 1 or 2 and give them a youtuber/viner situation where they all live together and make videos. Really wish they had added a few more residential lots since I hate deleting premades but I also don't want all of the premades to take all the housing in del sol valley and yes I could move them to other towns but I like keeping premades in their respective towns.

Both of my parents went to Santa Monica high school, so they lived there for a number of years. Dad used to run into celebrities all of the time! So, I don't find this at all unusual in my game, nor am I perturbed by it. In fact, I'm rather amused at just how many show up at the same place. I just hope my Sim, a budding star, can gain something from their influence. He's got the net-working reward. So far, he's not been successful in introducing himself. :'( He's a really cool kid, for a teen, too.
