It would be great if doing laundry directly related to owned clothing. So for example, you can't wear a particular article of clothing because it's dirty. An aspect I never understood with clothing stores. Why pretend to be buying clothes when in fact you have access to the entire library of clothes???In the trailer it shows someone wearing a stinky outfit. Is this because they haven't showered or because the outfit needs to be washed? Can you put a specific outfit in the wash and if you can, will it disappear from your outfit lineup? Or are we just constantly washing nebulous piles of laundry that appear as you change from PJ's to day. Day to swim. Swim to party?

They have said that, like in TS3, laundry is lot specific. That means that if you don't put a washer/drier/clothesline or a hamper on the lot, then you won't have "laundry". If you played it with TS3 then you already know how that works. So if you don't put hampers in the gym to collect the sweaty workout clothes, then you don't have to worry about the sweaty workout clothes. You can play rotational play and only have one of 5 houses with laundry while the others go about their lives not realizing how amazing clean clothes can be! I have said in many threads that I hated the idea of laundry when I first saw it mentioned back in TS2 and when it started showing up in TS3 boards. I admit I loved it once we got it! I've very much missed having it in my game and I'm thrilled that it's finally (almost) here!

I do wonder how laundry will function this time around, wonder if it will be in any way different than it was in Sims 3.

Yeah that is my thoughts too. What's the point? They should have just patched this into the game or something. It's not really worth it's on pack just to get laundry machines and some new clothes.

I would like to put this here. Honestly the whole wardrobe/clothing system in the game needs a dash of realism. I know that the game can become cumbersome if washing/buying/changing clothes is just like real life. But I do believe with some thought, the devs should be able to strike a right balance between realism and playability.

I just hate how pointless wardrobes are, you can just change the outfit by clicking on the sim! And the fact that we have free access to every clothing time in CAS, takes the novelty and will out of visiting clothestores.
