- I'm pretty sure closing the restaurant and opening it again recharges the staff's energy. I've done it a few times in the past but it's not something I do very often since it seems a bit unrealistic and exploity

They are not owned by sims. I only change menus, uniforms and the facilities of the restaurants.
Ah okay, well I like running my own restaurants, I never send my sims to eat because they don't stay seated and keep playing musical chairs. - I cheat their needs. Right click on them with testingcheats on and select "make sim happy".
- I had a vampire employ who never complained of working too long. Perhaps try having all employees as vampires?

If you hire staff they can be open 24 hours, they will also work as a npc ran restursant if it hasn't been bought by a played sim household. It will also generate your sims some income if you take another household to the restursant. The restursant will operate as a NPC restursant except the owning played household would get money for the time your other played sims spend there.

I forgot that Sims 4 had game packs as well as expansions.
I'm used to Sims 3 with just Expansions and Stuff packs. - graceymanors6 years agoLegend

Ok. I added dishes from food stalls to the menus of restaurants, and often send sims to restaurants to eat and learn those dishes. I even have a vegetarian restaurant for sims with the vegetarian trait. Even food and drinks from Salvadorada are added to menus in restaurants, meaning sims can get Salvadoradian culture skill points without going on vacation.
Besides, sims are sometimes invited to restaurants by other sims.
Yeah, I wish there was a way to disable those invites, I get about 30 of them a day. - Purchase. Play. Ignore. Sell. Repeat
