- I like to make my sim go through a “talking stage” with a couple people they meet during a week and who they vibe with the most that’s who they persue a relationship with
- Perthelia7 years agoSeasoned AceI have literally accosted randoms jogging by the house and imposed a relationship on them.
But usually I just have them try to meet people. I set up a lot of child and teen clubs to see if anything sparks there. I also have my teens "make friends" at school quite a bit so they meet a lot of other teens.
And if I'm starting a game I either create a couple, or I create a single and send them over to meet Caleb Vatore, who has become my Designated Mandatory Spouse for pretty much any save. :D "Francl27;c-16521452" wrote:
Childhood friends, typically. Or go to a bar and meet someone. Sometimes they just don't hit it off though so I try someone else.
I do miss the attraction system of Sims 2!
me too !!- Often just random meetings at bars or on the street. Only a couple times have I matched up people from childhood/teens. I try to find Sims with traits I like, but also the look I'm going for (like if in generational gameplay, I like to add in completely new genetics/looks to add variety to my family).
My current Sim met her husband at a bar and after a couple embarrassing moments, he still stuck around and now they are expecting their first child  - FlyingPotato6597 years agoSeasoned Ace@Francl27 @Scorpina2009
I was surprised there was no attraction system in The Sims 4 even when they made a trailer about 'good woohoo' or 'bad woohoo' before the release as the link below...
https://youtube.com/watch?v=7cne1kgOcSc - Kathykins7 years agoSeasoned AceI'm usually quite controlling when it comes to setting my sims up with someone particular. Lately, I've been a bit more relaxed, and let my sims decide for themselves. Not always with the best result, but hey....whatever they like is ok with me. I'm trying to not be such a control freak lately :)
I'm also quite convinced there is some sort of attraction system in place in TS4. Often when my sims are talking to other sims, they will put their hand to their chest and go like "awwww". Like they are totally smitten with this other sim. It is just not as blatant, in your face, as in sims 2 or 3. (can't say I liked the system in 3 much, too many random numbsculls liking your skillset, and sims YOUR sims never even met once) - ADashofAsh907 years agoSeasoned AceI usually make two single sims--put them in two different apartments (Spice market and Fashion for example). I then have them meet and become friends. The romance part I usually don't cheat--I let them like each other on their own. Unless I notice one of them is starting to like another sim, then I'll MCC them to "lovers" to help give a boost. I then have them as partners but in their separate apartments--giving each other their key.
After a while, one of them will ask the other to move in. I have them live together until they save up for a house. If a house is a dream house I've built/downloaded that I know is super expensive, I "free real estate" them in but then put their funds back to a reasonable level.
The rest is pretty typical. Live together in new house, get engaged, married etc. :) - I mostly make one Sim, then after giving them a job, I have them socialize with co-workers, and when my Sim meets a Sim that looks nice or good, I start to get their friendship up high enough for them to start to date
- If I haven't created a sim just for them , I let them wander and meet other sims to see who they have the best chemistry with. It is usually not the sim I expected.
- I give my sims the observant trait and then have them find another with a common personality. That's pretty much half of what I do in real life, ha ha.
