how do you do it and what is the result?for example, I had a large family and all the the kids are grown with kids. So if I am controlling a sibling on their lot and a parent or other sibling who doesn't live on their lot may be visiting and I want to switch control from the sim whose lot I am on to a visiting sim no matter how I do it, save not save, manage family save not save, go to main menu save not save, the sims who live on that lot will all be standing outside when I get back. So for example I am controlling the mom on her lot and I have to serve a meal, but I want to switch control to her visiting child, when I get back to the lot and am controlling the visiting child, everyone who lives on the lot will be standing outside.

this game dont have "continuity", everytime you switch to another family and action in the previous family is lost, even inside your own family, you can only control one lot per time, then you can control any family part on that current lot, any sim outside the current lot is put off screen and lost any action, this is this game mechanic.you can't switch like in the sims 3, every time you change the lot you are playing or the others will be standing outside(if not the same family) or they have they "previous actions reseted.

I think it's cuz of a recent bug. Previously, you could switch households on the same lot and they wouldn't be standing outside.

yes, it does still function, the sim is brought to CAS & then you have to fiddle a little with the settings there, you don't need to change anything, but eg scroll through all the clothing of the sim & through his traits
it doesn't work every time but it does work usually, the game switches then the households
it is probably a bug, but usefull if you wish to swap households
it 's even possible to controll sims who don't dwell in a house but are just homeless unplayed residents of the neighborhood

This is very outdated but go to manage worlds through the game menu than click the house to play as
