How do you work your story progression without mods?

Hey everyone. I've been playing sims 4 without mods since it's beginning. A few months ago Ive decided to try using Mccc and I fell in love with story progression again. I realized my game was kinda dull without it. The thing is since I'm using this mod I started receiving messages related to 'Last exceptions' that in my ignorance i think that are related to something that is not working properly. I don't have any more mods installed and I never had nothing like this happening in the past.
I've decided I'm going to uninstall the mod but I know it'll be hard to play the game without story progression, now that I've experienced it.
So my question is, how do you work your story progression without mods? Do you marry and/or put babies in households every week? What is your scheme?

  • I already saw it working gloriously earlier today when I was going to move out Zoe Patel into her own home, the family had spawned some kids all on their own :D It really does liven things up, another couple had even broken up.
  • Just an FYI, Deaderpool just updated to version 6.3.0. Great thing about MCCC, he is very fast in updating his fabulous mod. <3
  • On Console since they can't use mods; I play the main household for a bit until I want to progress the rest of the townies, so I turn off aging then begin progressing the rest of the townies aka breeding, getting married, drama, etc, once I am done with that I switch back to my main household then I turn aging back on for a bit till I feel the need to progress the townies again. :P

As for the PC version, I just use MCCC to do the dirty work for me. lol

I either edit the household or play them in rotation. I also just download random families from the gallery and insert them in game if I need more toddlers child or teen Sims for my Sims to befriend if there aren't any in game generated ones available.
  • I just use the 'Manage Households' option that the game already has... it allows you to add new members to families. If you use "TestingCheats True" prior to entering this option, you can also get Sims married. It's very convenient for those of us who don't wish to use mods in our games.
  • I downloaded the Mccc mod just recently and it was working fine so far. The households that I don't play managed to get married, have babies, and moved to empty lots! So maybe you have downloaded the old version of the mod. Deaderpool's version of the Mccc mod is safe and easy to use
  • I don't use mods - but I micro-manage every household and lot in the game and control aging myself - much like we did in Sims 2. It's the way I prefere to play and I also get to know all the Sims in my game this way - the Maxis Sims as well as my own. LOL.
  • Like others mentioned above. A lot of rotational play and, for me, a buttload of micromanaging. I love to check in with extended family, neighbors or friends often and sometimes I will just make them a baby or give them a pet. I do also rely on the GTG club system pretty heavily so they naturally raise skills. I'm also not above testing cheats if they should have a certain career to fit a lifestyle. I'll say, if you love MCCC though to maybe stick with that b/c I imagine it's 100% easier to do it with a click than my way. I'm not confident in my computer skills and am afraid I will do something to make MCCC wreck my saves.
