How much more content are they going to add?

Do you think they really have years more worth of content for this game?
How much more can they release for this one title?
Just wondering here.

  • As long as it's profitable. And the engine is not too outdated for the advancing tech.
  • Yeah, they really can release as much as they want so long as it makes money. They honestly did not spin off the legacy version until fairly recently and it seems to be making plenty of money, too, so I do not see much holding them back.

If you are wondering if ideas would limit them, I highly doubt it. Considering the piece by piece nature of the game anyway, it will not take much to think of another piece to add. Just look at the forums to see all the packs people still want or even past content. There are plenty more occult that could use a GP, plenty of pets/animals that could be added, plenty more vacation destination GPs possible, and that is not even including all the million stuff packs they could do especially if every hobby qualifies. EPs are slightly more complicated, but I don't think by much considering. I imagine some social and/or family EPs would be easy ones.
  • Depends, if they have a sequel under production, then I don't think they will be able to convince EA to keep going with the sims4.

They have already demonstrated during these six years that they are not really interested in making the game feel complete so I think when EA decides that they are done, they are done.

Sims4 keeps making them money though, and they are really trying to extend the game's lifecycle with their marketing so they could keep going for several more years.

Unfortunately I think that is what will decide when the sims4 will end, not that people want werewolves, farming or cars...but if EA decides that they want to move on.
  • All the content! Still got all the iconic ideas that haven't hit and new ones that have been polled and surveyed about. Plus content that is completely new.
Things I want still many hobbies... I can list those for awhile but various sports, jewelry making, sculpting, pottery, martial arts for instance and many more.
Things like game rooms, carnivals, casinos ect. Farming. More world types swamps, snow, rural countrysides and Hotels/Motels. Cars and associated things like fixing or automotive jobs/racing. Horses. Various pets like birds please for me. Lots of spooky stuff like happy haunts possibilities listed (I want them all and more) and cemeteries as a lot type. Packs like Strangerville that might deal with things like a mystery or other ideas never done. Lots of Supernaturals left and maybe Superheros. Packs like Back to the Future and Generations but maybe done a bit differently of course. Then throw in more unexpected themes as we have gotten in Eco Living and Tiny living.
As long as it's making money and can support adding more in it's very likely to keep going for awhile.
Magic Eight Ball says: As I see it, yes.
  • I can see lots more content added, but I think they might need to change focus in a few packs. There is a limit to how many tables, chairs and t-shirts we need. But there is plenty of in-game dynamics that can still be added on, like personality and relations, logic debts in many areas.
  • You know I wish they did certain packs that have a certain theme for everyone like game a pack forpeoplethat want to do decade challenge I would buy it straight the way I do live playing the Sims and very greatful what they give us but I am a console player and I don't have access to cc or mods which is not great

If you ask me the engine seems too restrictive from the very beginning, since packs don't seem to include a lot this time around compared to former Sims games, which is a shame for a game that is made with expansions in mind.

Agreed. Island Living was one of them. Ocean Swimming is impossible? An retired simGuru mentioned us in the past that current worlds in the game would not allow ocean/river swimming and only new worlds are able to add that. Looks like because of that restriction we are unable to get ocean swimming in all worlds other than Sulani and random small spots in Brichester. I really wish they have more engineers in the game to overcome this issue.
  • Until the Sims 4 sales chart flattens out or drops off. Then they will bring out the sims 5 !
