How playable is the game rn?

It was perfectly playable with the pre-Eco Lifestyle patch and I'd recommend getting that one for all the bugfixes it brings. From my gut feeling I'd say the game even runs a little smoother with the patch, but take this with a grain of salt, please.

EL without mods is buggy in a way that I was ready to return to Sims 2 for good. The Neighborhood Action Plan interactions pushed my Free Will Off sims to autonomously do things like baking, instrument playing and initiating mischief socials when they were not even in a conversation.
But as others said before, what is a dealbreaker for one player may warrant a slight shrug at best for others.

Depends. If you get Error 134 then you're out of luck, it will make your game unplayable after hours to days, again and again.

If it's Error 102/122 and you can find the corrupted family/sim its frustrating trial and error.

You can mod out a few of the Problems with NAPs, but that's not the way it's supposed to be. And there are some other bugs that can crash your game or make it really exhausting to play. The Sims Bug Board on EAAnswers if full of Problems with the Patch/EP.

after some fed up Players caused some turmoil on twitter with #unplayablesims SimGuruNick and SimGuruFrost posted today that they're really working hard on the bugs and other issues, but they still have no ETA. Just don't delete your old save files if you have issues.

I never enabled N.A.P.s and so far they have not given me any trouble. I play with mods and CC in my game, so you cannot really say what causes what. There are a few bugs regarding gardening for me but like I said, I have mods and CC so it might be that but luckily my bugs are very minor.

I have had a lot of fun with the new pack, since playing off-the-grid is one of my big enjoyments when it comes to starting a new PT this pack fits me very well. I like making candles and I really like the new community-lots so for me this has been a good pack. Have only dabbled a little with the eco-footprint. At the moment it is turned off in my because I wish to focus on my spellcaster and the magical realm. I will return to the Eco-bit at a later point.

NAP's are not tolerable in my opinion, so you want to use mods, I recommend Simvasion's and Zero's mods, especially Zero's no swiping mod because Sharing is Caring is an unbalanced disaster. You can also disable NPC voting.

The way they programmed NAP's scare me honestly because they seem to override everything, they spawn items in sims inventories endlessly and makes sims use them constantly unless you use mods, they might even ruin future packs unless Maxis does something about them.

While it's not a large issue I also find the insects farms and the candle making very boring, both take too long to do. Insects farms are apparently not even configured properly, your insects will die no matter what you do. I recommend checking out Carl's Sim Guides. He has made some great videos that showcases these issues.

Personally, I've not had too many issues and the game is very playable. Fun even! The things people mention here are factors though and it just depends how much you care. I would recommend (like others have said) to disable the NAPS for now. They're too intrusive and buggy. The footprint moves back to neutral way too easily, but that's up to you how much you care or not. I'm kind of just ignoring it for now.

As for other bugs, I've had the flaming toilet once and I thought it was hilarious, but it's also never happened to me again.

And now it's totally playable! There is an updated version of the Civic Policy Tweaks mod that seems to have solved all of my NAP issues!

I feel the level of bugs is mostly at mildly annoying at worse. In my experience nothing is game breaking or too bad to take away from my fun or enjoyment of the game.

I haven’t played the game since the bugs started. It’s annoying to have to rebuild all my lots because the sims continue stealing & what not. Even with the voting system turned off. Even my sim is able to steal & she’s not trait with kleptomaniac.

Not to mention all my books seem to disappear & my pets always going MIA every second .

Not really, my game is already broken due to sharing is caring nap so i havent booted game in weeks.
