How to find out where NPC sims live ?

I think the only way would be to go into the 'Manage Households' screen and hover over each lot in each neighbourhood to see if he lives there. I'm not sure if a ghost will show up still though... maybe if there is someone he is related to still living in the house, you might be able to find it?

If the Sim died off-screen there may not be an urn to collect. The only time I’ve seen urns for NPC’s is when I witnessed their death take place.

If you want the urn the easiest way would probably be waiting for that Sim to become a ghost, asking them to move in, and then removing the urn they have in their inventory (all ghosts seem to have this once they become playable). If the Sim never appears as a ghost then they are more than likely permanently deleted and no urn exists.

Maybe it is a mc command thing I see a lot of urns these says when visiting NPC homes ! So yea there are urns left behind for unplayed sims.

Does this sim still appear in your family bin, even as a ghost?

The sim is not in my household.

I recently started playing the Goth house in my rotation. Mortimer is already dead, and I found his urn in the house. I don't use mods.

Is urns spawning at the house in the vanilla game or do you need a mod for it to work? Because I once saw it in a youtube video that two urns were at the front door, but when I tried to look for the urn of a dead sim in my own game, nothing was there. If it's an MCCC thing, is it a default setting? Because back when I couldn't find an urn, I already had it installed. I recently had a sim die in my save, so I'm gonna look at her house next time to see if something's there (fortunately the house isn't too big).

I think it must be a default thing with mc command. All the unplayed sims seem to leave behind urns.

That's weird. I've never seen a setting like that and it's highly unlikely I accidentally deactivated it, since I really like the idea of getting the urns of sims who died off-screen. Now I had to summon the ghost through the mailbox, add her to the current household and remove her again so she's in manage worlds under my households, just so she doesn't get culled by the game.

I did turn on the death notification for close friends and family maybe that is the reason ??
