- SimAlexandria5 years agoSeasoned AceTots can start learning responsiblity by clicking on a toybox and telling them to pick up their toys too haha! If you have a bunch of toys, spread them around your house and tell all the kids/tots to clean them up lol!
- EgonVM5 years agoSeasoned AceSimple. If children asks for advice, don't worry about manners and responsibility. It's easy to gain back. Emotional control is also easy with journals and new interactions to lower negative emotions. Empathy can be increased with doctor playset, volunteering, and by having the child talk about emotions and comfort sims with negative emotions. Conflict resolution is easy in toddlerhood and childhood.
Tips on getting negative traits.
Manners can be lowered by shouting forbitten words, farting, and belching.
Resposibility can be lowered by having bad grades, breaking curfew and grounding, and quitting and getting fired from part-time jobs.
Emotional control can be lowered with yelling, crying (self-interaction), throwing tantrums, and showing sims.
Conflict resolution can be lowered with arguing, fighting, and making enemies.
Empathy can be lowered with insults, making fun of negative emotions, and hitting stuffed animals. - aodoherty5 years agoSeasoned Ace

Conflict Resolution is an easy one too. Have parent teach to say sorry, you can start this with toddlers. Continue this when toddler becomes a child. Do this a couple times a day, it goes up pretty quick. You can't do this with a teen though.
OMG...I didn't know I can't do that with teens. Thanks for the awesome tip! :D Yes my children are still primary students. Thanks!!
To continue raising conflict resolution for teens, you can have the teen select "repair a bad relationship" (I'm sure that's not the correct phrasing but it's obvious if it's available) on other sims.
Yes I've seen that interaction. My teens are not under my control, so I can try this after my kiddie children first. :D - aodoherty5 years agoSeasoned Ace

I think Empathy is the hardest one to increase... I'm experiencing now. LOL - The children's doctors kit toy helps empathy. If a child maxes creativity they can begin an actual instrument skill, I use the childs violin or piano, or even pipe organ; as they get a certain level they can play with emotion on that instrument they have that certain skill level on, it helps increase emotional control.
- Get the journal to raise emotional control. EC+Empathy is easier if you have twins (or siblings born soon after another) - so when one gets teen mood swing, just spam the 'supportive' conversation options (raises empathy) then have the afflicted teen write in the journal (EC) and have a parent near to encourage both ASAP.
When you get the pop-ups, always take a hit for responsibility (can be brought up with homework+praise) or manners (just set the table or wash the dishes) if possible, because you can bring them back up easily. - Sketch7935 years agoSeasoned AceKeep in mind that your sims don't actually get the traits until they grow up to Young Adult. You not only have to get them in range to receive the traits, you have to keep them in range right up to their final moment as a Teen.

Yea I raised it with doctor playing set. I found a good point with the doctors kit that it quickly fills the fun needs. I was very happy with this. :D Now they grew up to teens. I'm experiencing mood swing...;; T_T - aodoherty5 years agoSeasoned Ace

Sorry but what's EC? O,O? Yes now I'm having 3 teens. :D I have a young adult male sim and he adopted 3 babies, and he looked after them, they are now all teens. :) I experienced the mood swing about 15 mins ago. I couldn't do anything because the daddy sim was staying at work when he brought that mood swing from school. I let him use the punching bag for relieving his anger. It worked. The time reduced to 4 hrs from 8 hrs. then his daddy sim got back home, and the anger has gone when he talked about the anger problem. Maybe daddy sim needs to find another sim to get married. so that they can get helped from mommy sim. :D - aodoherty5 years agoSeasoned Ace

Winding down with classical on the stereo helps emotional control as well. So does knitting, apparently. I didn't notice this until I got a message popping up for my child that said she was in range to receive the trait. Other easy responsibility bumps after you take a hit include caring for pets - as far as I know, it works with cats, dogs, and small pets.
wow! classical music? Maybe baroque music help as well? I prefer baroque music than classical music. I haven't purchased knitting pack yet. :)
@Sketch793
Thanks for the good tip. I wondered why daddy sim couldn't complete that milestone when the kids filled up everything just before aging up to teen. OMG..I need to wait until they age up to young adult...so boring. :D
