How to "own/buy" a pet instead of just adopting?

So I've tired out the adopting a pet feature and its ok. But how do I own one? Is the only way through the create a sim cas mode? Or do we need to do something special like develop a friendship with these pets that we rent for like a few hours?

You can keep them by clicking on the adoption agent and clicking "adopt pet" (I think). They bring them around for you to evaluate. You can keep any individual or all of the pets you have them bring.

Every day the adoptable pets are spawned randomly, so I don't think it's bugged, they're not very imaginative with the names either so you will see duplicates of sorts like you saw.

When the pets are over, just click "adopt" on the one you'd like to keep (or two or all three).
  • Not to be rude but it seems a bit pointless making a thread asking how you adopt the pets after they're brought around by the adoption agency and then ignoring the people answering your question and explaining how to
  • Hmm, I noticed something, that after you "rent" a pet for a day, the next time you call the agency up that pet won't be there? I even had another day where it made double of the same pet with the same name but different traits! Seems bugged to me?
  • I decided to just create one in cas mode. I picked a Vizsla breed, I don't know much about dog breeds but I wouldn't think breeds matter in the sims 4 if just for appearance sake? I Gave her friendly, playful and hunter traits. I just google searched for dogs howling with hearts and I guessed before that she is in heat. I don't think there's anything I can do about it for her? Been training her and she now learns to do her "business" outside and even not to wake up sims! I bought for her a dog bowl, the pet sleep station and the play on the go toy box. Anything else? Also I have auto aging turned off, does this work for pets to?

You can "encourage her to breed with..." if there's a male dog around and you will have puppies, or just take her to vet and get her spayed and the hearts will stop.
