I can't believe they actually acknowledged Dina and Nina's original mother

I agree with

I don't really agree with
- Katrina is clone made by Calientes

reason being Calientes have no motive to make themselves new mom
and they are not scientists or have science related aspirations

Katrina is also older than Calientes

I think her being secret agent with false identity makes more sense
and she still could be distantly related to Calientes but not their mom

I will probably treat this new lore as if its just a rumor

Yeah it was rather odd that they were bringing it up as they used to have the explanation that the sims4 is an "alternate" universe but now it seems like they still would like to have some lore behind it?

I mean, it's fine, I guess. It was probably because of the caliente refresh.

Thought that was strange yeah she could be a clone because of what is possible in game but she is still their mother they are connected in the family tree. I would have been more interested in what happened to Max's mother and what is his now insane father able to hide.

Are they saying that Katrina is literally not their mother, in some sort of attempt to cover up the backward wokeness that caused them to have to change her name from the original Muslim name she had? Or did they ADMIT that they changed it and are just saying it's not her original name?

I know they're just talking about the Caliente household for the updated Caliente looks, but ngl it irks me when people discount Katrina as their mom. She is their mom, in this universe. Heck, you can easily fan-canon that Katrina is the original mother, just under a different name (which we can't write out here cause it'll get censored). They both are redheads so it's not far-fetched idea. Only conflicting issue is the ages, but that wouldn't be the first thing TS4 changed.

Really, if you look at all of the games across the board...the sims series is a series of spaghetti noodle timelines. Nothing correlates together completely. It's all very loose noodles.

The whole video I thought 'I feel like I'm not the demographic for this anymore...' until with got to the Calientes and they showed some Sims 2. Not too fond of the clone idea either, wish they'd just be transparent 'we changed her name because of the in-game censors'.

(The bolded part) That's an interesting theory. Maybe she's a secret agent investigating the disappearance of Bella Goth (in TS2)? When Dina and Nina came to Oasis Springs, they lost their memory and she's masquerading as their mother and Don's lover to get information? I don't know how moving to Oasis Springs could make them lose their memory but it could be similar to the lore in TS3 with Don in Riverview? Maybe they went to look for Don, and all of them ended up in Oasis Springs? Ok, I may be seriously reaching. I'll see myself out. :D
