- Yeah, some of us old simmers are already kind of done buying the game all over again
so making base free at least lets us try it out before we buy into it
= probably more likely to just try it out and then get stuck playing oops
then again it does make me worry about what they are going to make money out of instead with base being free
= advertisements? micro transactions? super expensive packs? limited content/other mobile nonsense? time will tell
I'll expect the worst until proven otherwise, just in case. - Horrorgirl62 years agoSeasoned VeteranI am guessing basic weather could include temperature and weather basics.
Like it being cold and icy.
Fall cold and leaves falling out the trees.
Spring rain and flowers bloom faster.
Certain plants that are for seasons
Winter could have some snow ,but no interactions.Accept maybe making snowballs or snowmen.
Summer could be just very hot weather.
I imagine we want get holidays or custome holidays or anything too specific.I can imagine 20 .00 game pack call holidays. Can have all the stuff to make or add holidays in the game. - FriendlySimmers2 years agoNew Traveleri do not mind free game the only thing that bugs me as a player is the multiplayer part i went to keep my game single play and offline?
- Sara1010p2 years agoRising RookieIt being free will at least tempt me to try it. Greatest way to see if you like something is to try it and this way there will be no buyers remorse if I don't like it.
- ChadSims22 years agoSeasoned NoviceI do think being free is smart it's going to pull in a younger audience who parents might not be willing to shell out $60 for a base game but will buy many $5 kits.
- rjssim2 years agoRising ScoutI have to agree. Also, I like how they said they will implement weather etc into the base game at no cost. I'll never stop playing TS4, but I'm interested in TS5, much more than what I've seen of the competitors. Perhaps I will be able to create a new sim story alongside what I'm doing now with TS4. I'm cheering for you, Maxis, don't let me down! JK, lol! I wish them the best of luck on TS5. I say take all the time they need to make TS5 an excellent game and highly detailed and beautiful looking sims.
- ripgisela2 years agoNew SpectatorI think it's a smart move financially to attract more players but not necessarily for the quality of the game. Game companies often use the game being free to justify lots of bugs and missing content (and they've already admitted that the base game will be added to over time because it will be missing features to start). I'd rather pay 40$ and get a fuller experience.

Agreed. A lot of it is about quick money now and not the quality of the product. EA has shown this time and time again with so many of their games. - Llandros20122 years agoSeasoned RookieNothing is ever truly free - infants were a 'free' update to the Sims 4 but they were arguably the most boring lifestate available unless you shell out $40 for the Growing Together EP so that you can have milestones, events, playmats, changing tables, more furniture and clothing, etc. But without the EP, pretty much just watch and listen to them fuss and cry until you age them up to the next stage.
You will spend more money on a 'free' game than you can possibly imagine. - Horrorgirl62 years agoSeasoned Veteran

I think infants were fine without growing together. The only thing they should had was the vhanging table, but they were okay.
