IDK what to do - I don't enjoy doing 100 baby challenge

Well, well, well.

The title says it all. I don't know why I started doing this challenge. I don't find it fun to take care of many children and doing it basically forever because 100 children is a lot. I like to play families, do stuff with them and have fun with them and not to do the same stuff again and again and all over again. I never liked this challenge. 100 baby challenge was on my NEVER to do list. Yet here I am doing it.

I do it in my regular save that I have played for about two years so that means the mother is a sim I have played with before. She has the fertile trait and some other reward traits so it's eaiser and quicker finished. Thirteen babies have been born and 7 are already out of the household. They live in the tiniest home.

I hate it. I don't know why I got the idea it is going to be fun. So much fun. It is not. It's an annoying chore. I'd rather deep clean my ugly apartment than doing the challenge. I HATE CLEANING! I actually went back to TS3 (and I am now at gen 3 with the Keatons) just to avoid my 100 baby challenge.

The thing is I did the decades challenge before. And I didn't really enjoy it either. I felt limited. I couldn't wait for the 80's to live kind of normal life but you know I got used to being limited on stuff that I basically didn't upgrade much in terms of technology. So my sism lived like cavemen till the very end. It felt like a chore to me as well but it has been like 2 months since I finished and I only have fond memories from the decades even though I didn't like it much, if you know what I mean.

I hate doing the 100 baby challenge and I want to quit but I don't want to be a quitter. Also I want to do the ISBI speedrun challenge so badly but can I even do it at this point when I hate all of the chalenges? That's the question.

Does the challenge require your sim to take care of 100 babies, or give birth to them? Just curious.

It's your game, you are supposed to have fun, I think it's OK to bend the rules and even make your own. If you must finish the challenge, I have found out that you can leave the kid on the lot and go about your life like you never had them. The game will automatically call a baby sitter for you. So, my advice is have the babies, buy a retail lot and move out on the pretence that you need to work to provide for your ever growing family. You can have a business and live on the retail lot and visit home lot only when absolutely necessary. For bonding purposes you could bring one kid to work each day. ?

Whenever I’m on the verge of quitting something, but I’m uncertain whether I should do it or not, I usually ask myself the following questions in no specific order:

Is there is good chance that someone will die if I decide to quit?
Is there a good chance that I will die before my time if, indeed, I quit?
If I quit, is it going to be the absolute end of the world?
If I were to quit, will I be losing out on a heap of money?

If the answer is NO to all the above, I will most likely quit.

If I feel like quitting something I do in my leisure time because I dislike it so much, I won’t even ask myself those questions. I will most definitely quit and move onto doing something else that keeps me happy.
Life’s too short and I’m 390 years old.

Fortunately I know myself well enough to never even start a 100-baby challenge, even one going by my own very lenient rules. But I have occasionally given variations of other ideas a go and suffered for it. I don't consider it being a quitter to quit something that doesn't benefit oneself in any way whatsoever (as in some appreciable amount of fun, as we're talking about a game), especially not a something that's entirely optional. Make yourself happy again!

I’ve thought about doing the 100 baby challenge but I know it would bore me. I love family play, but I get bored with any one family/house/world for too long. And anyway, it seems so pointless. The kids have no purpose, I wouldn’t have the energy to style them all, and getting pregnant by some rando in the game isn’t much of a challenge. ISBI challenge looks fun, though, if the autonomy amuses you (I mod a lot of stuff out, and that’s probably cheating). I have done the asylum challenge and it was fun, but I didn’t complete it - it mostly inspired a bunch of couples and a new rotational save.

It’s such a bummer when your main save gets boring. I feel ya.

I don't like that challenge at all, so I certainly wouldn't ever look down on a person who quits theirs. The game should be fun. Quit if you feel like you don't like it. That's totally fine.

I'm not sure what advice to give, I try to play games to have fun. The sims4 have been exceptionally boring for me lately so try to focus on something that you find is fun to do?

I don't really feel that there is such a thing as being a quitter when it comes to play videogames. Focus on stuff you enjoy.

How about ageing them all up and move them singly or several into empty lots in Newcrest, giving them all a tent(s) and the necessary toilet and grill. You have then populated the whole neighbourhood without much of a problem. The challenge will be to start them all off on a career,, give them some skills and leave them to see how they get on.

It’s not mandatory to finish it, if you dislike it delete the save and move on. I do it all the time.

The competitive side of me wants to try it someday. At the end of the day though, it is your game. I think people created these challenges for fun and keep things from getting boring for themselves. But, if you're not having fun and it's boring to you, then what is the point? Play the way that is fun for you. Create your own challenges that you might find fun.
