Imagine My Surprise . . .

I had the parents put their infant twin sons in their cribs before they went out to HAHAHA celebrate Night on the Town.  It took my Sims long enough to get the one twin in his crib, I was all but shouting profanity at them. Which isn't really my style.  I sent them to the local pub, since the hour was quite late. I thought they had just enough time to get under the wire. I got the popup the babies had been sent to Daycare. Yet, the clock ran out on the 'holiday', which was awful or so my Sims complained. I sent them home. He still had work to do. A concert and a photoshoot.

I sent his wife to go check on the twins. What do I find? No, they aren't securely in their cribs, like normal. Instead, I find one of them in their nursery, only he's lying on a pile of trash on the floor! The other one is downstairs in the office rocking out to the music on the radio. Cute, but not even close to safe . . .

What is going on? I swear I'm beginning to experience some recent bugginess to this game. It's off-putting and I shut it down before even playing for twenty minutes.

Sims don’t continue doing what you told them after you leave - if you set one to painting, or tending the garden, or doing homework, then leave the lot, that task won’t be completed when you return and likely not even in progress. If you sent a Sim to bed, they’re unlikely to still be sleeping. The same is true for all ages. If you return to a lot after letting time pass, the game will just place whatever Sims are there around the home doing “logical” activities they might do. For babies the options are limited, but lying in the floor or listening to music are certainly possibilities.

  • I hate returning home during night hours if there are sims left on the lot. You'd think the game would be programmed to recognise the time and have the sims sleeping in bed, cribs etc with an appropriate amount of sleep left to fill. But I guess the developers never thought of that. These days, if I travel during late hours I tend to take the whole household otherwise it's just a pain in the neck when you get home again.

  • Its time to go for a walk when you start screaming at the game. I've been there. 😂

Normally speaking, the Sim babies are generally in their cribs after the parents go out, just where they were left. I have no idea why they magically were moved. The parents weren't even out for very long. It was weird.

It was more the fact that Jamison was left lying on a pile of trash on the floor . . .  Gross. And very surprising that his twin, Andrew was busy rocking out downstairs in the office.  LOL Now, that was cute, at least.

Generally I’ve found they’ll return from daycare to the same place they left if they were sent to daycare because the parents were in a rabbit hole, and the lot is never reloaded. But if the parents leave the lot and I go with them, all bets are off - when the lot reloads, the kids will be somewhere random.

Oh, I know. I have had a Sim from family A go to visit another Sim in family B, only to find out the school-aged kids are home, and so are the parents, who should be at work . . . . That's why I was so excited to find my two families' kids at school when I followed the first family there. It was way cool, and something I always wanted but never, ever happened prior to this one instance.
