I like the jealous trait as is because it's very negative. I feel like we need negative traits like this in the sims 4 because having a happy sim is too easy.
However ejoslin's ideas of including the other mate are great and should be implemented.
If that is how it is intended then, to be extremely negative, I guess I will play it as more of a mental health issue than a "fault". I don't want all perfect Sims, either, and I like having some traits that are lesser than mental health issues, but rather just a part of someone's personality. For example, the Gloomy trait. That seems more like an aspect of the personality rather than a serious psychological disorder. They are Sad now and then, but not 90% of the time. On the other hand, the Insane trait seems like a psychiatric condition, not a fault."Ponder the Sim;14268077" wrote:
When your sim gets a jealousy debuff when their partner is 10 feet away in eye-sight what does the debuff say? What is the reason they give?

I feel like she would know what was going on with him with how he acts and gets tense, etc.. Even the kids could notice as well..

That seems off. Might be a bug or mod conflict because you're right it makes no sense to get that debuff if the sims are nearby.- So far all I've gotten from the Jealous trait is my Sim wants to complain about problems or talk about insecurities a lot, because he doesn't have a romantic partner yet (I'm holding off till Get Together for that -- planning to move him to Windenburg). I'm still hoping for a Faithful trait (purchasable reward trait) that would keep the random Romantic bars from popping up on my married Sims when I'm not actively playing them (seems to happen mostly with my male Sims for some reason...).

It's more like an Obsessed trait. Jealousy is just the tip of the iceberg.
The 'bunny boiler' trait!!! >:)- Xion_Luna10 years agoNew SpectatorHumm this trait is good for a possessive lover but I do like this trait but I would not use it all the time

This exactly. Sure it would be nice to have some of the other features mentioned in this thread but I like the fact that this trait is difficult to manage and due to the long and frequently occurring tense moodlet makes progressing in a career more challenging etc. The good thing about the reactions being linked to the trait is that if you don't like to play with them then you don't need to choose that trait. At least we have some options here, for a change!- DiscipleOfDuat10 years agoSeasoned VeteranI agree with Livin in Sim, it does border a mental health issue. Extreme possessiveness usually surfaces under the duress of negative experiences. People can feel completely overwhelmed when met with such a strong emotion they (perhaps) did not know they could possess. Through life-experience and better understanding of what has happened, people no longer deal as much with the sharper edges anymore.
People don't stay the same in their lives. I hope for the future generation of the Sims franchise, these emotions will have the ability to be refined/transmuted through life experience. So, an elder may offer advice and solace to a younger adult or a teen who may endure similar trials and tribulations. A child would have the potential to grow, but in the end, life may dictate more strongly where they'll end up.
I really do like this trait, however and have given it to a couple of simmies. My jealous sim is head-over-heels with a non-commital townie. - I like traits like that, because they bring so much character to the game. Unfortunately, all the other traits still do nothing, so it is SO over-powerful compared to other. I wish traits like "cheerful" or "playful" would do more then the random moodlet.
