Is it true the latest patch broke Sims 4? Is it unplayable?

I've just read that Maxis doesn't plan to patch the Sims 4 this month, because they don't plan to release any new content (patches can't just fix problems anymore I guess) I haven't actually fired ...

The latest patch didn't do any harm to me. There are however some severe bugs to be fixed.
