- There's not really anything you can do to stop them besides getting rid of them or readjusting your store. I tend to use smaller retail shops with only 1 floor so that there are too many witnesses for them to be able to steal anything

Make a second club that hangs out at your store and fights kleptos. Dress them in security guard outfits. "EmmaVane;c-16513439" wrote:

This is a great idea. I love it!"Cupid;c-16513434" wrote:

That's a bummer that there's nothing I can do. Unfortunately making a smaller shop isn't really an option, I've designed it to look like a series of shops and that includes a little laundrette and a cinema. But thanks for the suggestion!"EmmaVane;c-16513439" wrote:

I love this idea! Might steal it  Do I need to set the klepto hangout to the store as well?- EmmaVane8 years agoSeasoned AceYou could set the kleptos to hang out at any retail store, then they might show up at other shops you visit too.

Lol, awesome. Doesn't leave much room for customers, though. (20 sim limit.) :p
Anywho, I've never noticed kleptos stealing from my store. Didn't even realize it was a thing. Oh well, I consider it a consequence of being a store owner. I wouldn't be mad if EA gave us security guards, though. - ..But real stores really do get nicked from, you know? Every business has it's monthly profit losses too. Stock and otherwise.
I worked in a record shop about a year ago and we spent a month investigating who was stealing our street signs continuously because we had no CCTV. Good thing we laugh in the face of challenge.
Or in true sims fashion just find the darn hot-handed klampit and lock them in a pool surrounded by walls. "CoteDAzur;c-16514006" wrote:

To be honest I can sympathize with the OP on this one.. I think the issue is less the robbing itself (which is fine), and more that it's hard to track down what was stolen all the time for the sake of replacing it, especially in a big store. The latter is definitely what keeps me from putting kleptos in my game, not the theft itself.- janyses8 years agoSeasoned Ace

I always welcome challenge. :# TS3 is too easy in comparison. Don't even try to replace the stolen items. When the store starts looking bare, redecorate. B) "CoteDAzur;c-16514006" wrote:

You got the point, it is realistic in a way. But then again, sometimes Sims steal not so realistic things. I mean, in my experience it was, for example, the whole soap dispenser, gone almost every single day. I could be wrong, but I feel that it doesn't happen that often that people remove things attached to the walls  And replacing stolen things can be also a bit annoying after some time.
The better idea for the realisim you're describing, in my opinion at least, would be some pop-ups every now and then, saying something like 'During the weekly/monthly stocktaking it turned out that some of merchandise was missing', and then you loose small amount of money on that day.
