Hmm... guess it would require a lot of work if it would become a new pet. Would it have needs and everything else? Take a slot in the family.
Yeah... I'm also going to miss having a living robot but I'm sort of used since SWTOR. T7 followed my character around when out questing in the world and then had it's "home" where it stayed on the ship.
Hm... I'll just imagine that it has crappy connection to something that slow it down, or that it got damaged on the way home. Would prefer a live one but oh well.
