Welcome back ❤️. That must have been a really difficult and frightening time but you're obviously a real fighter to come through something like that.
As a disabled player I empathise, I get that nagging feeling of wanting to get back to my Sims after flare ups and difficult times. The game and the official forum are such a big part of the daily routine. I understand about painful typing so I use hand and wrist supports. They can make things much more comfortable but it can involve a lot of testing different ones to see what works. Different supports can help with different tasks. Adapting the platform you use to be more accessible for your needs makes a big difference. I can't use a PC now or sit at a desk but luckily a console controller is quite comfortable to use so I'm on Xbox Series X in a giant comfy chair with lots of memory foam, cuddle cushion and a footstool 🦥! When I could use a PC I had a special mouse and wrist rest. It's most important to be comfortable when you're playing your game.
I recommend the Business and Hobbies Expansion Pack. One of the things I like about it is the Pottery Skill. It's an activity where you can sit and watch your Sim for a while and take a break from too much clicking or doing anything and just watch, I have a couple of the work areas and kilns set up for one Sim so I can queue pottery tasks up and relax a bit. It also adds shelving that automatically sets items for sale if you want to sell things. Less clicking unlike Get to Work's retail stores...so much clicking Set for Sale, ouch! That's gone with the B&H stands and displays thanks to Ingenious Ingvar. It still has it's bugs to work out though. I love Crystal Creations for a similar reason, I get to watch my Sim working away creating something pretty.
But the main thing is to stay well and also to have a great birthday. Just being able to celebrate it can feel like a real milestone 🎂 you've earned that cake, enjoy it 🎉.
