I have a club called "Nifty Knitters" - yeah, so original! :)They are 5 members who gather mostly at community lots where there are some sort of appropriate seating. The gatherings often get quite lively, although mostly my active sim will be doing the knitting. At one gathering one other member joined in with the knitting, maybe more will if they meet up at a lot with fewer distractions?Anyway, I figured having club meetings is a good thing even if my active sim is the only one knitting. When the club has earned enough points they can buy a "learn knitting skill faster" perk, and my active sim will obviously benefit from completing projects faster.Have you got a knitting club? any good observations or ideas?

Sounds like like a fun club. You mentioned other distractions. What else do you have on the lot?

If your active sim is the club leader, you can also set the distractions as forbidden activities. You might have to change it whenever they gather on a different lot though.I had to do this on a cafe lot where I had a club of hackers and a club of painters gather. Everyone was excessively drawn towards the computers, so using computers was put on the forbidden list for the painting club.

Not a knitting club, but It doesnt matter where i hold club gatherings, members all ignore the activities and only my sim does them. I thought it might be a bug but i read a very old comment while i was looking for ways to solve it, it said the clubs dont guarantee the sims will do the activities, they are just more likely to. Dont know if that is true or not but sounds like a design flaw because they dont even do them often. I might try holding the next gathering in a totally empty lot but i feel they will just start talking lol.

Oh, it's not a specific lot to knitters, the club will visit various existing community lots, and they will all have certain activities attracting the non played club members more than the knitting activity. could be a bar or a fishing pond, but of course also NPCs wanting to talk.

aah, I wasn't aware that setting activities to "forbidden" would affect their behavior. I just thought doing those "negative" activities would harm the score, like doing the positive tasks will raise the score. I never paid full attention tho it though, it's not that hard earning club points, anyway.

Someone in another thread suggested to add "listen to music" to the "green" list. Ir can be done while knitting, and even if only my active sim does it, it should build club points faster.

If members wander off, it's possible to use the "go here together" command to gather them again. That's not preventing them from wandering off again, but I think it will cancel their current actions.

I made a knitting club but made the mistake of putting 'be friendly' or whatever the chatty social is. So everyone just stood around talking and my sim was the only one knitting.

When I rotate back to the club leader I will remove that and have only knitting as an activity.

Possibly also lock them all in a room with nothing but chairs :D

My clubs always seem to go very well with sims doing club specific things.
