Hi
I thought I remembered a mod that stopped played sims being utilized by the game for food servers or similar but after searching for ages I cannot find it so I am wondering if another player might be using it and can point me in the right direction.. I simply cannot stand to see big bad vlad with an apron on serving food :)
I'm not sure on the mod or code that can be put in, however, I am pretty sure that any character (household) you don't want as the random servers etc, you just play them once. Only "un-played" sims can be the random stuff. A household marked as "played" won't do that.
(correct me if I'm wrong) - texxx785 years agoSeasoned AceWhat about unplayed sims but those who live in one of the worlds' houses? Is there any mod to avoid them getting those npc jobs?
- @Admiral8Q
I will try that next time I am in game and then try test it but i thought it was not possible that way but you could be right. I know I saw a simple mod somewhere and I cannot for the life of my think of the modder and that stopped played sims being used at food vendors and the like..When/if I find out i will come back.
@texxx78
I honestly don't know possibly with the MCCC mod which I do use but am in no way an expert but again i will try find out something however my knowledge is a little limited on this topic :) - Admiral8Q5 years agoSeasoned Ace

Yes. ;)
One way to do that without a mod is to use a testingcheat code that removes their hidden career trait. A bit complicated at first to figure out.
One of the MCCC program options has that built in and is much easier to use than doing it manually.
I've actually done the opposite. For example I made someone a "Handyman" by giving them the hidden career trait, then made them un-played but living in a house. So that way they always show up without being "not-in-world" "un-played". Occasionally a newly spawned townie may replace them, but then I just delete that townie.
@SPARKY1922 As for Vlad showing up as a food-server all the time? That's actually hilarious, and yeah I'd want to stop that too, haha! :D
I'm not sure what skills would trigger that. For example a bar-tender (Mixologist) needs the mixology skill. But again I've never seen a played Sim ever show up randomly. Only will show up if you hire them specifically.
EDIT: I just though of something, if you play him briefly, give Vlad a "job/career", then set him as "un-palyed", that may override the food-server thing? - Sharooonia5 years agoSeasoned AceI'm fairly sure the NPC Control mod can stop it.

I had to take NPCC out because it's outdated and the most up-to-date version (still outdated) is locked behind a paywall on Patreon. It causes issues with some of the new NPCs we've gotten I'm pretty sure.
Maybe it's not that big of a deal for others right now.. I just wanted the OP to be aware. "Sharonia;c-17833324" wrote:

Yeah if you want to pay for it. As that mod has not been updated for public.
Anyway, sims in your played households will not be vendors or stuff like that, unplayed ones will.- LiELF5 years agoLegendYou should also be able to register them with a work title from their phone and that should stop it. I did this with all of my Vampires, just gave them Vampiric titles so the game would read them as already employed. I don't recall ever seeing them as bartenders or vendors again. I wish I could remember what it says in the phone exactly, but I believe it's in the work category. I think this was made to be an official workaround for the game pulling undesired Sims to fill job duties. Hopefully it still works.
- MDianaSims5 years agoSeasoned AceI think the Sim Spawn Overhaul mod has a function that only pulls "not in world" Sims for NPC roles. Which I think is the simplest solution to your problem. I know the mod consists of multiple parts, so you may only need one. I haven't had a chance to try the mod myself though.
There are other mods that can do this, but those require more actions to set this up. - Admiral8Q5 years agoSeasoned Ace

This is what I was thinking, but you explained it better.
(Sort-of) ;)
