Rumors of a City focused expansion pack, and my simmer senses say this is legitimate.
It's not Generations, and I really didn't expect the third expansion pack to be Generations. The City Living expansion from the TS4 marketing surveys is exactly what I expected for the third expansion pack. So, I am not surprised.

You would think this would send my NEPS into the stratosphere, but no.
I expected this. I am actually intrigued by it all. No Generations for EP 4?
Yeah, I might blow a circuit.

CITY LIVING

It’s time for your Sims to experience city living. Meet brand new neighbors and friends as your Sims live in a loft or apartment in one of the many high rise buildings. Your Sims will be able to check out the latest bands and DJs and dance the night away in the new rooftop night clubs. If you feel inspired, you’ll even have the opportunity to start your band and try to make it big!

TOWN LIFE

Create a vibrant and evolving new town for your Sims to explore! Build out your town with new venues including pop-up restaurants, coffee shops, farmers’ markets, amongst others. Change the rules of your town by becoming Mayor and making your own laws or use new neighborhood editing tools to fully customize your town as you see fit!

Will I buy it?
I have halted buying anymore content until toddlers and pre-teens are proven to be coming.
This EP may tempt me. A long time ago, EA made Town Life as a stuff pack. I suggested that the theme really should have been an expansion pack for The Sims 3, so I just may get it for EA following through.

But I have no idea what this EP will consist of. The surveys have evolved over time and some features have already been delivered: Restaurants, DJs, and coffee shops. I think I will get it If these are part of the expansion:
-Bands!
-World Editing tools
-Apartments
-Laundromats
-Mayor career and city hall.
-Different cultures
-Farmer's Market

Apartments and bands are a big deal for me. I also had a fantastic experience with a custom and modded city hall community lot in The Sims 2.
I will most likely reboot my sims and start over, plus add new sims that I have been creating in CAS.
I am seriously asking for culling headaches.

Triple Boost Week: Skills and Careers
With all this commotion about EP rumors and this new EA sponsored in game event, I am lured away from TS3 to TS4

Jasmine Holiday is some kind of life coach with the inside knowledge of getting ahead in life.


Ling is all for that.
She's been slaving away at the science lab and wants to break through that glass ceiling.


Boom! Done.
She's now a mad scientist, but she was close to getting that in the first place and I don't know if this event actually applies to professions.


Anyway, Ling is the jack of all skills, but the master of none.
She has called up Jasmine again to master some skills she doesn't have time for.


The violin.
Jasmine smartly puts some distance between them because Ling is horrible.


This skills boost thing is quickly forgotten when Meadow Thayer calls up Ling to go out for ladies night.


Meadow?
Heck yeah! We are there.


And we brought friends.


And this is where I get all warm and fuzzy about seeing my sims again.


Absence makes the heart grow fonder.

Ling is a scientist and Ceridwen is a human/cat hybrid from some mad scientist's genetic experiments.
Ling can't pass up this opportunity. She must get a DNA sample.

She's only at level 7 in logic. I wonder If can do more by level 10.

Meh, probably talking about not having any missing content is considered speculating about future content..
This was in General discussion at first, then moved to expansion packs, and then moved here.

Anyway, I am back to experiencing NEPS symptom number...

Eh, the one about playing with mods and CC as a distraction.
After a healthy debate about the merits of Alpha VS Clay hair and being tired of hearing it doesn't match the game, well heck, I will make the game match the hair. >:)

I always disliked when sims invited my sims out and they ended up in the Narwhal Arms.
It just seems so dull.


Those cartoon bricks make me wanna snooze too.


But that's all changed now.


I went in and edited it.


I like what Get to Work's industrial props add to the place.


Those fans actually spin.




The buffet table provides better food.








I hadn't notice the wardrobe in here until I started editing it.


It's gonna be put to use now.

N.E.P.S. in Overdrive

When I first started this thread, I mentioned finally getting the game how you wanted it.
That was aimed mainly at the kind of sims I like to play and having a wonderful group of them just waiting to hook up and start families, going to University, enjoying the different seasons, and traveling to different worlds.

That was just from a bit of CC and building some homes I really liked.
Well, recently I started an all out war on TS4's art style--a full declaration of war against the Toon Empire's suppressing of Grit and Grain, fibers and strands, and preferring thick over thin. The forcing of textures to do work that should be done by meshes... yada yada yada.

This isn't saying the graphics are bad, or that they should be changed--congrats to you if the game is exactly as you like it.
This theater of conflict is contained only within my computer. The original graphics are really nice and I've found the graphics engine is quite wonderful. Simmers have said that it's not the graphics, it's just the choice of art style. After my latest attack on textures and meshes, I agree.

I am just... Wow! Over my game.
Bring on the expansions! (And fix culling.)

The Sims 4? Is that you?


Ok, it's not a complete overhaul and the war will not be won over the elimination of blockiness.
The Toon Empire will continue ker-chunking out more mass, but I am liking what I have so far.


I want more bark in my bark.
I found a few trees, but nothing I am satisfied with yet.
It's a start.


This war started with the grass, escalated with the liberation of strands within hair and eyelashes, and brought life and texture to eyes and lips.
Now the theater of operations has moved to the interior of homes.


This is where the fight was most brutal.


Wood grain and cloth fibers were allowed to rise to the surface, freed from being mere suggested blur.


The first interplay of thick and thin happened here, allowing thick's strength to contrast with thin's delicateness.


The wonderful lighting shed brilliantly on all once the battle was over.


But that was just the first battle.
The war escalated in another home.


Light again proved to be a force for realism, revealing the true power of this engine.


With our last victory, more Troops for Detail joined the Rebel Alliance against the Toon Empire.


"Thin!" was the battle cry of the day.


When the battle was done, we celebrated in dance, song, and a good movie.


The war is not yet over!
It has only begun, and more Detail Troops arrive every weekend.


This war began with the grass,
and it will end with the sky.

May grit, grain, fibers, strands, and thinness be with you.
