Nature's Calling Event: Share Your Gameplay Thread (Ends Sept 2nd)

Hello! After lunching the game, I have a splash screen "week 4 of an event" that is impossible to close and start playing. When I click on "play now" nothing happens. When I click on the cross to close this window, it closes, but the screen blocks as if some sort of modality still on and interface is not responding. So i basically can not start the game. Tried to repair the game, tied to relaunch few times — the problem didn't go anywhere  
I play on macOS, btw
