Not much to do at Snowy Escape festivals..

As for me, It is more on imagination when it comes to Snowy Escape sadly. There is a severe lack of activities. In Festival of Light for example, The only game play (for me) was the bonfire. The Food and the clothing? They add nothing to the festival aside from the "Look". For something to do the bonfire is the only thing that you can do there.

I kinda wish that they went out step further. Why not have fireworks be sold in that festival if you have City Living? Or better yet, why create a festival of light knowing that most fireworks features already came with City Living? Why not add a Music Festival with new dances and even new instrument like flute or something.

I've only been to two so far, Light and I think the other was Snow? Snow wasn't horrible, but Light was - the wishing tree and the bonfire was about it. I wanted to at least send a paper lantern down the river! Would have been so cute with my toddler, but alas, it wasn't to be. They're pretty though, but not worth really sticking around for. Show up, get some pictures, try some food, maybe build a snowpal or something, get some sentiments and leave lol.

I have to agree. I use the festivals in City Living all the time, but so far I don't feel very inspired by the ones in Snowy Escape. I'll check out the other thread for ideas though.

To be fair there really isn’t much to do at any of the festivals in game. I just like to have my sims visit them for the festival atmosphere and socialising with other sims mostly.

I brought a few sims to one and they ended up getting sentimental about their time together so that was nice. I am guessing they’re more fun when you have a child in the family.

I really wish they would have fleshed them out better in terms of decorations as well, no just activities. Especially the Youth one. The place where it takes place has so much posibilities and for it to be the Youth one, it doesnt have the actual feel of it. The festivals of City Living have so much more in terms of ambiance and i just wish they would've done the same for the ones in Snowy

Festivals are another area that the Sims team need to overhaul. I rarely send my sims to any of the festivals anymore. The ones for Snowy Escape are awful. It isn't much different from the ones in Island Living. I've started to get bored with the festivals in San Myshuno as well. There aren't enough activities to do at any of the festivals, and it is annoying that we can't edit festivals. Not that it would matter because there wouldn't really be anything we could add to make it better at this point. I still haven't figured out why Seasons didn't come with festivals like in Sims 3. I live in the South. Some festivals are better than others, but the bigger festivals are more like carnivals/fairs. There are usually games, rides, contests (eating, costumes, cooking), stages for performances, and artisan vendors who sell jelly, jam, jerky, jewelry, jars of veggies and fruit, baked goods, candles, sculptures, paintings, clothing, wood carvings, and metal work. You can usually find haunted houses and a psychic/medium/fortune teller at a fall festival.

One of the big issues is that we have the ability to create some of the stuff I mentioned, and we can sell it at vendor tables, but there are no vendor tables at any festivals because this ability came in Eco Lifestyle instead of the base game. This same issue will also apply if they ever decide to give us bands, stages, and carnival/fair items. I'm sure some of it has to do with ensuring the game can run on more PCs, but I also see it as the limitations we face due to EA's approach to DLC. We only get surface level because everything has to be chopped up into separate DLC that prevents thriving, cohesive experiences.

There are vendor tables at the flea market - vendor tables came with City Living first.

I wish we could do some interaction with the floating lanterns at the Festival of Lights, even if it's just "Look at lights."

You can bring your own table and merchandise if you want to sell anything at the festivals. Or a guitar if you wish to sing. Personally, I would have liked more festival specific souvenirs and activities. The snow festival especially could have given us ice sculpting skill to make pretty ice sculptures. Or snow sculptures, like we can make in the sand but made out of snow.
