NPC working shop?

The shop needs mannequins to draw npcs to run it.

hm now i put Mannequins into the store - saved it, and visit the lot, but there are no npcs and the Mannequins are "naked" =(

In my case that caused the npcs to spawn. This could be a bug that will need patching.

Okay thx anyway! :) then i will wait for a patch or maybe someone has another idea. :#

I noticed that too. Some lots from gallery that have been run as retails (have displays set, and items for selling are assigned) will work. But if the lot was uploaded "fresh" - right from the build mode without going through life mode and working as business - will be empty.

What i think can solve this - you can cheat. For example if you've build your own retail - but you don't want to run it with your active family - go to manage world, choose a random family, buy that retail store, set up displays and assign prices then switch back to the family you played before.

I myself didn't try it - but i'm pretty sure it will work...logically thinking:))

If I remember correctly one of the gurus said shops you download from the gallery will be controlled by npcs unless you buy it. I might try to ask about this in the live broadcast tomorrow.

Well this could fix it. But it should work without doing such a process like this. Takes a lot of time (maybe not in small lots but in big lots)
Hope there will be a patch, that it works correctly.

Ok Weealbet on twitter told me to check the time of day. He said npcs generally arrive at 9am

@catloverplayer @SimGuruGraham Check the time of day, NPCs only seem to come 9-5. Also check the lot type, all my stores spawn NPCs :)

Hey CLP, a mannequin is not needed to make an unowned store function. The reason why that seemed to work for you, is that clothing placed on mannequins is automatically set for sale. For an unowned store (or any store for that matter) to function, something must be set For Sale.

Devil, you answer you're original concern... whoever made the bakery that you downloaded from the Gallery probably didn't set anything in the bakery as For Sale, so when you placed it in your world it didn't become a functional store. If a player uploads a lot with items on the lot as For Sale, the store should immediately start functioning when you place it in your world. If you're building your own stores in your world that you want to be unowned so you can visit as a customer, you'll need to...

1) Build the store.
2) Own the store (so that you can set items as For Sale, which can only be done by the owner).
3) Mark the items in the store that you want it to sell as For Sale, by clicking on them in Live Mode.
4) Sell the store.

When you follow this process you'll now have an unowned store that's fully functional that you can now go shop at. You won't lose any money by buying the store to set it up either; you'll recoup all of those costs when you sell the store.
