Out of curiosity, would you buy a new computer just to play The Sims?

i bought my current "gaming" laptop just to play the sims, i'm a console pleb.
although, my old laptop was getting worn out anyway, but if not for the sims i would have gotten a much cheaper (and smaller..) one to replace it.
