- Karababy52New SpectatorUnfortunately, as @Kimmer shared, clearing the cache makes no difference. I always do that after every time I play. I don't bother trying to repair, put the plants in household inventory, or try to reset them, etc. What I do when this happens is hold down the shift key and click on the plant. A menu will pop up. I choose, 'Set Gardening State' then 'Growth Stage' and finally choose 'Blossoming.' By doing that the plants pop back up fully grown and ready to harvest the next day as usual.
I figure it's not really cheating since it's not my Sims' fault there's a gardening bug. There are many more options though using that cheat if you so desire. Check it out sometime, it keeps me from tearing my hair out when my plants revert to dirt clumps. It's a bit of a pain and tedious if you have a rather large garden, but worth it if your Sims depend on the garden for income or meals.
Here's a link to a thread by @kalaksed that gives a more detailed description of all the options you can do with this cheat.
New Gardening Plant Cheats - Kimmer_oneRising Traveler@Karababy52
Thanks for the idea of "cheating" the plants back. What a great idea. I didn't even know about it, but I'm gonna do that from now on. :)
I agree, it's not really cheating because it's a bug that the plants will revert back to just planted stage. - Kimmer_oneRising Traveler

Does this only happen to indoor plants? Just aking because I never experienced reverting plants in my game, but always have my plants outside.
Before the latest patch (which was supposed to fix the bug) it happened both indoors and outdoors. After the patch I haven't had it happen outside anymore. The family that had all the plants in the greenhouse revert to dirt piles yesterday has also few outdoor plants, but they didn't revert, they're just fine. - DragonAge_300905Seasoned TravelerFor the longest time, my sim barely had to weed, water, and spray for bugs on her plants.
I'm using the (Not Saying) planters and my sim needs to care for her garden. I had 2 plants die when it was raining for 3 days. I was like, they're freshly planted, it's raining, no weeds, and haven't evolved, why are they dieing? I found out the plants were getting bugs after I got my sim to level 9 in gardening skill.
No plants have reverted to dirt piles but I playing on a 28 day cycle and still in spring.
I'm thinking, whatever the devs did to the planters, they didn't touch the (Not Saying) planters. So far in my game, the (Not Saying) planters are working.
I'm (Not Saying) which planters I used because I think the devs nerfed the other planters because of people complaining about the level of care the garden needs. And that caused the dirt pile bug. - SheriSimSeasoned Hotshot

New Gardening Plant Cheats
@Karababy52 Do you go into the cheat and debug menus first, before using the shift key? It looks like I’m going to have to try this cheat. - I reinstalled the game recently, and I noticed that one of my household's indoor plants were all dirt piles. Looks like the bug is back :(
I was playing rotationally, I don't know if that makes a difference? - bshag4lvSeasoned AdventurerAlmost all my sims garden so I pay close attention to their gardens. I switch out my plants on day one of every season so I know all the plants are in season. At this point my sister and I make bets on which plants will be there in a few hours...it's like a new game, Whack-a-Plant. Sometimes you just have to embrace the chaos. :D
Great entertainment, I had the camera focused on the garden when a tree popped up in the middle of my camera...startling, but funny. - GirafHuntrNew Spectator

They didn’t fix the babies being a different color when uploading either.
I've noticed this - but in my game it seems like they half fixed it. I do now see some babies with lighter skin tones, but there's no skin tone in between. They can either be extremely dark or extremely pale, seems like there are no middle tone babies even when both the parents have a middle skin tone. - mightyspritesimsSeasoned Hotshot@Kimmer sorry that didn't workfor you, and thank you @Karababy52 for the cheat codes, I agree, it isn't really cheating if you are fixing a bug !
- hb11rdRising NewcomerIndoors, outdoors, doesn't make a difference in a new saved game started shortly after the last update. I only really notice it if I go into build mode and come back to play mode. It also happens with only some plants and not the same plants each time.
Update: Oh! It happens literally all of the time. I've been dipping into build mode a lot in the past couple of days as me and my sims get used to the house and how they'll really use it, so I didn't realize the bug was happening until I stopped redecorating. I never know what the garden will look like the next time my sim checks it out. I'm a "clear cache" person every time I play, a once a week repairer, a super clean new mods folder and game since the last update. This is super annoying! I have all the packs except dust buster, which seems like more work than I want my sim to do for very little game satisfaction.
